Yes he had Shaq but it wasn't close to a Prime Shaq. I think he averaged like 13/10 for the Finals and missed several games during the season.
but he is stilll Sjhaq and drew a ton of attention letting Wade operate. What did shaq average that year? 20 & 10?
They missed the Finals the previous season with Shaq..... it was obvious Shaq was declining and Wade was like the best 2 guard in the game ascending.
That playoff run:
18.4 and 9.8 in the playoffs shooting 61 pct from the field. That is pretty freakin good.
Please lets not diminish his value to appreciate wades value that in turn will diminish Melo's value.
Now go post Shaq's playoff numbers during his Lakers chip runs and post Shaq's Finals numbers when he won with Wade and post Shaq's Finals numbers when he won with Kobe. It's not even remotely close.
I'm not saying Shaq didn't help but let's stop inflating the help. Shaq was on a rapid decline while with the Heat. Wade won without Lebron or a Bosh talent on his team. The whole reason Lebron was trashed for teaming up with him in the first place. Lebron never made it to the Finals with Shaq and he had a Shaq who averaged 18/8 in Phx the yr prior to but he made it to the Finals without Shaq. Numbers don't always tell the story.
So Bosh was better last than Shaq was when they won it? You can't be remotely serious.
Yes Kobe had more help than Wade, Shaq was even a bigger beast (the most dominating that I've seen) and Kobe's team was as stacked as stacked is. That does not diminish the year/playoffs that Shaq had with Miami and the double teams he created.
You are just reaching here.
If you said that Dirk did not have the same supporting cast, I would buy that.
And your Shaq PHX argument, he shot 44 pct from the floor in the playoffs, and Shaq Cleveland shot 51 pct from the floor. Shaq Miami shot 61 pct. It was also quite obvious that he was far from the player that he was in Miami.
