Yes he had Shaq but it wasn't close to a Prime Shaq. I think he averaged like 13/10 for the Finals and missed several games during the season.

but he is stilll Sjhaq and drew a ton of attention letting Wade operate. What did shaq average that year? 20 & 10?

They missed the Finals the previous season with Shaq..... it was obvious Shaq was declining and Wade was like the best 2 guard in the game ascending.

That playoff run:

18.4 and 9.8 in the playoffs shooting 61 pct from the field. That is pretty freakin good.

Please lets not diminish his value to appreciate wades value that in turn will diminish Melo's value.

Wade took 22 shots a game when he won the scoring title. Melo has averaged the same number of shots per game. Maybe if Melo played with LBJ and Posh he wouldn't shoot as much.

Now go post Shaq's playoff numbers during his Lakers chip runs and post Shaq's Finals numbers when he won with Wade and post Shaq's Finals numbers when he won with Kobe. It's not even remotely close.

I'm not saying Shaq didn't help but let's stop inflating the help. Shaq was on a rapid decline while with the Heat. Wade won without Lebron or a Bosh talent on his team. The whole reason Lebron was trashed for teaming up with him in the first place. Lebron never made it to the Finals with Shaq and he had a Shaq who averaged 18/8 in Phx the yr prior to but he made it to the Finals without Shaq. Numbers don't always tell the story.

He literally may have had to take that many shots. I went and looked at that roster and it was DISTERRIFULASTER....how did he win 43gms with that roster?

Kidd, Felton, Brewer, Tyson and Melo. Who needs to take the shots?

So Bosh was better last than Shaq was when they won it? You can't be remotely serious.

Yes Kobe had more help than Wade, Shaq was even a bigger beast (the most dominating that I've seen) and Kobe's team was as stacked as stacked is. That does not diminish the year/playoffs that Shaq had with Miami and the double teams he created.

You are just reaching here.

If you said that Dirk did not have the same supporting cast, I would buy that.

And your Shaq PHX argument, he shot 44 pct from the floor in the playoffs, and Shaq Cleveland shot 51 pct from the floor. Shaq Miami shot 61 pct. It was also quite obvious that he was far from the player that he was in Miami.

Why are you comparing? Wade is a better and more efficient player. And his final run was SICK!

OH BOY. shaq was not shaq with wade... wade was a true rising star who played a complete floor game. he didn't have a prime shaq...

wade comes off as douchebag, but that doesn't discount what he says..

he may be taking shots at carmelo , who knows, and so what, he is better, was better, and is a two time champion, and for years a top player in the league..

yes he may be irritating, but he does walk the walk....

Shaq was not THE SAME Shaq. Who do we have that is as good as Miami Shaq? Earl Smith?

Wade is more efficient and I would love if Melo showed him by having an efficient post season (> 46-47 pct). Not gonna be easy with the way Miami plays defense and no post presence. What happens when every one is missing shots, Novak is handcuffed to a bed, Felton is trapped ...

I really hope that JR erupts.

I also hope that Melo does not try to shoulder it all and force low pct shots.

Shaq still had a lot left in 2006 with Miami. He declined drastically in Phoenix, Cleveland & Boston

Kinda like how Ewing had a lot left from 96-99 then suffered the same drastic decline due to age and injuries as a Sonic and Magic

20 pts and 9.2 rebounds while leading the league in FG and 1st team all NBA - in just 30 mins a game?

Not too shabby.

no, that series was fixed, Dallas converted like 50% of their 3point shots and Wade doesn't even get breathed on and he gets and1
Tim Donaway, the ref that went to jail for fixing games for bookies said it himself, that the series was fixed for Heat also Kings vs Lakers on their 1st ring

You can say the same thing about many of the bulls rings. Who was allowed to breath on jordan?

And even if it was fixed, you can't take away credit from Shaq season / playoffs and how sick Wade was in the playoffs. It was one of the best performances that I have seen.

Let's see since it's a very recent comment he has to talking about....

Westbrook
Kobe
Melo
Curry
Monta
J.R. Smith

possibly Harden

I'm thinking of guys who have the freedom to shoot whenever they want and at times aren't efficient.

Melo is NOT shooting 41 or 42 % this season. Also, Melo shoots 45% for his career... SMH, you try way too hard....

He said on "some nights/sometimes" I see guys shooting etc etc....Melo's last game he shot 9-23fg

39 PACENT

Couple games prior to he shot 13-34fg

38 PACENT on unlimited freedom.... high CHUCKERAGE

Since he was directly asked about Scoring Title, yes he was trying drown out Melo's accomplishment
