They were planning on having him back for the playoffs and while I still hope this was just a small bump and he can be part of our playoff run, if not, we really need to get a big with the open spot and maybe even get another insurance with Sheeds spot, maybe for guard?

Guy was obviously not improving but the window was closing. This is why we got Kmart.

Just my take. We kept him and tried out of respect.

I actually don't think it's a big deal with Sheed. He worked out really hard the day before and perhaps the real game action just pushed him over the top and he started to feel it. Really he's gonna have soreness coming back at this point. I think he'll be fine but he's got to work back into it. We may only need him for 5-10 minutes anyway. In time he should be able to go longer. Have faith people.

need

In November, the 6-foot-11 Wallace was the smart, talented forward the Knicks needed off the bench. After his last game, on Dec. 13, the Knicks were 17-5 and atop the Eastern Conference standings. He averaged 7.2 points and 4.2 rebounds in his 20 games. The Knicks had an offensive rating of 102 points per 100 possessions when Wallace was on the court. Their defensive rating with him was 97.3, which was better than any other team has produced this season.

I tell you what.... Sheed looked slow and fat in his 3 minute display. I am wondering what he would look like with a committed summer and training camp, all healthy of course.

Think at this point in his life, he's always going to look chubby. But he was really, really slow- seemed to just walk and stand around most of the time.

yeah, he might have pushed it and got on the floor a bit too quick but, the very fact that he felt like giving it a go give me some hope that he will be ready to after resting the rest of this week.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

At his age, he's going to be injured a lot..Think about it, he was only playing minor minutes and couldn't stay healthy for more then a few weeks...

Even if he committed himself over the summer, he's bound to break down. He hasn't given anyone any real indication that he can stay healthy, neither can Camby. We brought these veteran Bigs in, kept them out for majority of the season just so we could make a playoff push..Im a wait and see!!

the problem is that Sheed being out of shape at this point in the season demonstrates his last of commitment. The end of his stay in Boston played out the same. He was committed to playing at the beginning of the season. Then he got hurt and got to enjoy retirement again. A stress fracture is a chromic injury which was probably brought on by playing heavier than he should

Yeah man, time to move on with Sheed. I was hopeful at the beginning of the season, now I'm just turned off.

I kinda feel that away about Amare . It is a shame cause he brought the Knicks back.

Copeland is already playing Sheed's role without his experience/DEF
I don't mean to be harsh but it doesn't appear Sheed will be able to contribute for 3minutes without injury, he likely will not be able to sustain 10mins of playoff basketball
We were patient enough waiting to this day, sign someone to the bench in addition to the heath/injury concerns of

Amare

Chandler
Camby
Kmart

Q/Kidd

Melo/Iman

What if we get health issues again this year in the play offs?
We have to go in with as many LIVE bodies as possible, we have too many question marks with this roster
If Q was actually in shape, it would not be that bad even for his age, but he has been 2-3 years away from being a real contributer on the floor
While I think his experience/toughness is valuable, we need some fresher/active legs in my opinion
Someone even like Rodney Carney

We are going way over the top with all these veterans/health concern players
