The Answer Man Drops A Chinese Proverb Like It's Hot, Correctly

A. "A Picture's Meaning Can Express Ten Thousand Words."

Carmelo is playing basketball at an elite level. The best basketball of his career. No matter how you put a veg-o-matic to it, (slice and dice it) that is a beautiful thing.

Seriously.

Melo's high efficiency, volume scoring is crazy good, not crazy bad. Like Earl Smith, he is playing with rhythm. This is not to be confused with preconceived notions of what a "good" shot is. When you carry the burden of his prodigious talent, what defines a bad shot?

A double team? Nah.

A triple team? Maybe.

The point being, Carmelo has always played with extra force. That includes "forced" shots that ignore the obvious extra pass. A few games back he shot so much (and so poorly) The Answer Man himself exclaimed "Pass The Ball!"

The difference?

His demeanor and approach. Carmelo wears the blank facial expression of a businessman before he closes a major deal. Dispassionate. Focused on the prize. Little to no emotion. A professional
His closest shot against the Heat was from 15 feet. Let that sink in a moment. That is how special this young man is.

He can see a Larry O Brien Trophy. It will be fun to watch how he goes after it.

the last two games he was not double-teamed. what strategies will the celtics or bulls use to defend him?

that's one possession out of 200. you might as well show me fotos of all 200 possessions while you're at it. otherwise what's your point?

You shouldn't write in absolutes then. You sound ignorant when you do.

Maybe write "Miami Single covered him mostly, but when they did bring a double, Melo did the fadeway baseline jumper away from Battier and the help defender"

or

"When Atlanta finally decided to bring a double, the ball was out of Melo's hand via hockey assist or skip pass"

That's my point.

if you weren't so eager to play "gotcha" these snotty responses of yours would be unnecessary, especially since you know i am by no means ignorant.

go ahead and have the last word and try to avoid being annoying.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Season will ride on JR since Amare likely wont be back til ECF vs Miami. Hopefully Felton and Shumpert play out of there minds in the playoffs as well. They are capable especially Felton. Need his penetration and finishing at the rim and hitting open jumpers.
Make no mistake Melo will be double and tripled team

if we face the celtics their strategy is to force switches that will force melo to defend and try to get him into foul trouble. if he tries to fight over picks he will get into foul trouble as well.

i promise you that is what we will see. they'll likely try the same with smith.

So you are saying they are going to make the Knicks switch on D which is what Woody tells them to do already. Amazing.

dk7th - don't you find it the least bit appropriate that the Knicks have won 10 games in a row and some writers choose to celebrate?

No one called you ignorant. No one is playing "gothcha". Unfortunately, having rice paper thin skin might make ones sensors flinch at any hint of rebuttal, whether in pure fun or by shouting "Go Knicks" too loudly.

Fact is, no matter whether he plays on a championship team or not, Mr Carmelo Anthony will NEVER earn the love of some Knicks fans. That is just the way it is. For some, if Carmelo Anthony rescued an elderly woman from a burning house, they would complain that he wrinkled her dress. It is the nature of being a super hero.

The Answer Man understands why J. Jonah Jamison printed all the negative stuff about Spider Man. He was jealous and resented the fact that Spider Man was too different. He was "the other", so Spidey must have been in concert with the other criminals, right?

Yes, the suggestion is that Carmelo Anthony is as tormented as Spider Man, despite trying to rescue a franchise with every ounce of his energy. When was the last time Melo was recognized for his effort, despite not getting the calls from referees?

Nah, that is what he is expected to do.

Meanwhile, every day is a new day. This recent run has been entertaining and placed our beloved Knicks on the doorstep of 50 wins for the first time in more than a dozen years. Isn't that reason enough to celebrate Melo leading the way on a Thursday?

The future is so bright The Answer Man ha gotta wear shades.

Trance Music

Wearing that same glassy expression, Melo varied his approach a bit this time, firing off another barrage of jumpers while mixing in some drive-by buckets and dazzling moves out of the post. DeShawn Stevenson, Josh Smith, and Dahntay Jones each took turns hassling, but Melo paid them no mind. Again, the guy has quite obviously been in a zone this week. Melo looks totally glazed over, as if he's been hypnotized. I'm not sure he even notices defenders in his vicinity.

- Seth Rosenthal

That said, Melo noticing defenders and responding appropriately was one of several great things to occur in the fourth quarter. Raymond Felton and J.R. Smith began to erupt during Melo's early-period rest - Felton chugging to the rim over Chandler picks, Smith steamrolling Shelvin Mack - and continued to do so once the hot hand returned.

Someone else noticed Carmelo's expression.

OutCoached Again?

Mike Woodson has lost a truckload of core players to injury this season. All our big men are hobbled. Every last one of them. Not an excuse. That is the reality. Woodson is also 64-32 as Knicks Head Coach and 22 games over .500 this season. Losing to the eventual NBA champion Miami Heat last year was NOT a result of being outcoached. They were the better team.

Sheesh, dk7th, your patented resentment paints the Knicks with the brush of a lottery team. Are you not entertained?

Oh, forgot... the only thing that matters is the playoffs.

He was told he sounded ignorant when he spoke in absolutes. Chuck also apologized. When you spend your day posting melo hate stuff and the Knicks are on 10 game winning streak it has to be frustrating.

CrushAlot - ChuckBuck apologized immediately. The honorable MrBuck has rarely, if ever, been involved in a personal squabble with another poster.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter the angle or advocacy. What is most bamboozling is that anyone would find a ten game winning streak, (or managing a roster packed with hobbled big men) to signal that a successful regular season (22 games over .500) indicates that the head coach or his leading man are fatally flawed.

Rain on this parade at your own risk.

The Knicks switch against every team almost all the time. Wouldnt Carmelo and JR have been in foul trouble like every game of the season?

Switching usually dont get them into foul trouble, overly guarding their own man seems to be more of a problem.

Edit: Thats pretty much what im saying. If the switching lead to fouls on Melo and JR as DK suggested, wouldnt they be in foul trouble all the time? The switching usually just causes us to give up 3's.

Anyone who can't be over joyed by the way the knicks are playing I really feel sorry for. Because if we win a championship they would be heart broken. Right now they hate every game we win. I can't worry about them because I got so much joy and I am smiling . Ain't got time for angry people. All I can say is you continue to be unhappy but as for me I'M A KNICKS DIEHARD FAN
