There are times when the "new Jamal Crawford" looks better than Reggie Miller.

As far as JR being like James Harden, the difference is that in a few years from now people will say "JR who?"

Right, because James Harden is 37% and 44%, respectively. That's a major difference right there.
And JR's been in the league for 9 years and everybody's always been saying "JR who?"

Time to double check your #s and/or read more carefully.

Here's the numbers as of today's BBRef.com. Tell me how reading them more carefully helps your argument.

James Harden - Career NBA .446 .373
JR Smith - Career NBA .424 .366

I'm not convinced he's turned the corner either, but I think this thread is focusing on where JR is taking shots now (constantly driving, breaking down the defense) as opposed to having that random good game where he makes an uncharacteristic amount of his wild, lazy chuck-ups.

Guys...i was only commenting on JR's style of attacking the rim...its herky-jerky like harden...no he ISNT harden...hes still JR and im not even sure if hes turned the corner...i was only commenting on their STYLES...no need to throw in stats or all star appearances...lol
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

You are confusing total FG% with 2 point FG% (carefully see above)

I said JR was a bad 2 point shooter becaue he was shooting 44%. You said he was similar to Harden but he isn't. Harden's this year is 49%.

I hope JR can keep this up. If he keeps taking it to the hole (13 FT's last night!) I really like our chances. Seriously, even with his knuckleheaded play at times, if he keeps up what he is doing we are a VERY dangerous team with both him and Melo being able to finish like they can AND we have some great big bodies inside to compliment things. It is like we are a new team out there.

Of course we can't overlook what Prigs starting and getting some guys back from injury mean to this team now.

The Incredible JR article - http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/knicks/post/_/id/39609/the-incredible-j-r-smith

Key part imo

"I think he’s starting to figure out some things and he's mixing his game up," Woodson said. "He’s not just shooting jump shots. He's taking it to the hole, he’s rebounding, he’s making a conscious effort to defend. … He’s still got, I think, a ways to go, but he’s getting there."

Sorry JR has a whole career's worth of knuckleheaded play to overcome before I'm a believer. Let's have him at least play like this for half a season?
Rose is not the answer.

J.R Smith you can't stop him, you can only try and contain him.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I've seen so many over-the-top knee-jerk the-sky-is-falling type of threads this season that it is almost refreshing to see a thread like this. At least this bad boy reflects some optimism

If he plays this way the rest of the year or even close--he wont be a Knick next year. How much money does Rudy gay make? If JR plays like this--who is better?

Of course, JR is simply another spoiled, gifted, problematic, playground baller who only cares about the money.

Playing close to home is irrelevant. His coaches handling means nothing. He could care less about his teammates because it begins and ends with him and him alone.

He ignores the support and adulation of the Garden.

Winning means absolutely nothing to him.

We get it.
