I just knew his defensive intensity would be needed at the PF spot, since Rasheed was injured. I saw the impact of Wallace at the four and knew he left a big hole in our front court.

A defensive Forward that rebounds and doesn't need any offensive plays for him to impact the game is needed when you have Melo and Stat.

Ditto.

Always liked the intensity and the badass attitude. Never liked the brittle knees.

If Kmart turns in double doubles WITH D, it's just one more reason to appreciate Grunny Macklemore's "I'ma bulid it granpa style"

Martin seriously deserves an OFFICIAL APPRECIATE THREAD by MisterEarl

I have been pushing for the Knicks to acquire him with Jannero Pargo in 2012, if we had acquired them we would possibly be looking at a better record for the 2nd place, ahead of Indiana with a decent lead to go with this brutal schedule

We have many players in Amare, Kurt Thomas, Rasheed Wallace, James White, who we will not even be sure if they will actually contribute this season/playoffs with....
With Kurt and Wallace both Center's, I think we have to choose 1, while James White is just no playable with lack of skills in limited minutes
We need to acquire players ASAP so they can get some practices in and learn to gel with the team and playbook for the playoffs...

I think we should keep our tabs on Pargo as he signed another 10day contract with the Bobcats
I was very strong about the addition's of Kmart and Pargo, as I still am about Pargo, because of their veteranship/chemistry/ and understanding their roles
He could be a starter that could penetrate, hit the 3pointer, and play solid DEFENSE, with doing a bit of everything
A true journey man that is always under rated in the league, that knows how to play with a starting lineup or 2nd/3rd strong guard
If he finishes the season with the Bobcats, I think we should look for Delonte West

We should also look to acquire a SF/PF type player that we can use vs Lebron/Durant etc
This is a position we need because Iman should not even be defending SF's on most nights, he just is too small
I have no clear choice for this position but to throw a couple names out there
JR Smith, even as athletic as he is, he is even too small to defend Lebron and would have trouble with Dwade with Iman

In limited minutes, Kenyon Martin has been more productive than Tyson Chandler beacuse he brings a more refined passing and scoring skill set. All we need is a David Lee-ish double double of 10 and 10 from Kenyon... and to add some spice to the passing game.

His emergence, along with renewed trust in Pablo Progioni as a starter, (with Felton enjoying his natural habitat as a shooting guard) is one of the cool subplots of the push to the playoffs.

Miami, unbeatable?

Yeah right.

Per 36 min, the difference is 0.7 more assists for Kenyon and 1.3 more offensive rebounds for Tyson. Kenyon's never scored with this efficiency though. I'd be happily shocked if he kept it up for the rest of the season and the post-season.

Bonn1997 - The Answer Man is so befuddled, bamboozled and besmirched with the sudden emergence of (JYD 3.0) Martin, that he considered pawning his crystal basketball for a matching set of Xavier McDaniel and Anthony Mason (with the Kung fu grip) figurines.

Imagine Marcus Camby playing without fear.

Imagine the smirk on Kurt Thomas' face, knowing he has three hard fouls to give.

Imagine our all star centr, Tyson Chandler, as an afterthought.

Who woulda thunk it?

Why do we seem to forget jr smiths role in the fight at the garden.

All those thuggets are now Knicks. It's amazing. If the birdman showed up I'd swear it was all planned.

Go Knicks.

I will never forget how Nate got involved the way he did and how Melo threw that punch and then ran away the way he did. That is a very cowardly move.

You know what....I never really liked Melo's game and didn't really know him as a person....But after watching this video (for some reason I don't remember him doing that)....I cant stand this dude. He's lucky to have a Knicks jersey on, but that was a coward as punch on a little dude. I guess he's protecting JR Smith, but don't run. Jefferies was about to lay some hands on Melo!

Damn that punch was loud! Nate dropped quick....Put your hands up Nate.

Ok, this was why "coming home" was not cool to me.

But, in all fairness players are people who are intitled to mature and change like anyone else.

Melo is ok in my book but not the "Knick great" that fans what. He has to earn that.

Melo carried teh Nuggs to WCF's but thats for the Knuggs to hang their hat on. That did not happen as a knick.

Knick fans want a savior. A prophet who has not "delivered" is not a prophet.

Te Answer Man May Digress But Never Will He Stress

A prophet who has not delivered is an impostor. A fake. A charlatan in stage makeup. Kinda like Jim and Tammy Faye Baker.

Carmelo has yet to throw a punch on the behalf of the orange and blue. Or dive into the stands after a loose ball this month. Or rescue a child from a burning building.

Carmelo desperately needs one defining unselfish act that will make people like him.

Nobody roots for Goliath.

Sho' You Wrong

Kenyon Martin has been an anchor on the defensive end of the court. He has been getting block shots, key rebounds, playing solid man-to-man to man defense, and playing great help defense. More importantly Martin’s effort and energy is rubbing off on his teammates. On offense he’s going after every missed shot as well as playing the pick and roll game to almost perfection. - BigC

Kenyon is just so damn bouncy that The Answer Man musta been on drugs to miss his impact. More than the statistics, his energy is made for New York. No it ain't New Jersey. This is New York where everything is louder and larger. Martin has a boisterous, "take THAT" kinda game, which is a step up from phenominal, especially on the defensive end.

Instead of a fat new payday, like Martin was expecting, he found himself nearly blackballed from the league and labeled “un-coachable”.

We already know JR Smith is the most un-coachable player in the NBA, right behind Carmelo Anthony, who runs the franchise.

It's almost too perfect.
