Players like Melo are NOT getting traded. They are the choosers were and when to go.
Players like STAT are just done. No one will take on him unless you will rid them off even more hirable contracts (are those exist?)
All the rest is irrelevant sideshow.
This team is cooked and is unwatchable unless you like to follow some Melo-drama on and off the court. Boooooooring it is...
This is the unfortunate truth. No matter what scenario anyone can think of --the only thing happening is we will keep what we have and try everything possible to enhance it. We will use the pick to acquire a player that is already NBA. At one point Woodson had a gaudy record from year 1 backing into year two and that is fixated in those who run the Knicks minds. The wins over Miami are fixated on their minds. NY MSG stock is at a high they are raising prices on tickets a whopping 7%--at a minimum bar they will sell hope and a very reasonable professional vet team featuring an all star player. That is it--this is not based on winning a championship--this is based on fielding a team with a star type and giving some entertainment--its almost like we are the reverse of the LA Clippers before they started spending some cash. Well spend the cash but its only meant as a tool 4 ROI. This is about money dog--the players get paid the owners get paid and the suckers pay it up. Thats how the world spins. We have the worst owner possible---we need someone who does this as hobby only and understand s a lick. Having Jim Dolan as an owner for our NY Knick basketball team is almost a crime, certainly sad. I'm too young to remember anything from the early 70's and the only good basketball that I have seen from my team in my lifetime stopped over a dozen years ago and I know it isnt changing anytime soon.
This is true we know likelyhood and actuality are 2 different things. Dolan and Melo are in the bed more than likely for eternity
Just remember that when you post 1trillion threads of kids to look for in the draft knowing we can only select 1 if not 2 at best
The trade proposed is under the premise to move on from the Melo era. This era hasn't been good, the team is not fun to watch, it's not beating the Heat, it's going nowhere, it has no future. 2014/2015 could prove to be a pivotal yr with a small window to rebuild. Once again Lebron and a host of other RFA could be available. That was the idea of the trade. I'm not making trades with the idea to support Dolan's Shakespeare Love for Melo. Maybe that's your MO. As long as he's here we'll be in perpetual toil.
If we can trade Melo and remain competitive great, but if not as long as the groundwork is laid for 2014/2015 I could care less. Once Melo is gone, it's all about the future.... with the best possibility for every avenue of flexibility.
