Dolan, Walsh, And Melo all made big mistakes. If Melo really wanted a ring he should have waited. Really want to be a Knick?

Well Melo what did you want? You are one of my favorite players but you should have known that trading for you and giving up draft picks would destroy you chances for a championship.I new that you couldn't and wouldn't play with the Linsanity thing but if you wanted Lin back all you had to say is Dolan bring him back. Then find a way to play together. I bet you never played so hard in all your life than this season. The Nuggets seem so far to be the winners but they are about as far as they can go and they are not going to the finals. It's too late now and in my opinion we will have to rebuild. Now another big mistake was fools gold. That is bringing in Amare for 100 million. We should have given him 3 years with an opt out on both sides. The third year at 15 million. The option years at 15 million Total of 75 million. Walsh he blew up the teams for nothing but cap space and no LeBron. I do believe that the LeBron that you see in Miami today would not have been the same lebron in New York. New York is a tough town to play in.
Now we are stuck with the Amare contract and now Melo must decide what does he want? Oh I believe Melo will get a ring if he really wants one but we must get rid of Woody and his sidekick JR Smith. Smith is not a smart player. He is a pot luck player. And won't share the ball. Novak is a big disappointment and my question is why can't we defend 3 point shooters like other team defend us. I really think that Woody's defences and that criss crossing defense makes an old team like ours more tired. We have no shooters forget the defense lack of you still have to make shots. And what makes felton think he's a shooter he is taking shots like he think he is Wade. I've come to the conclusion that it is nothing we can really do. We are stuck. Well Melo you took the money and so did Amare and so did Chandler and Novak I'm not saying you should not have but if you really want a ring in todays NBA since the LeBron, Wade and Bosh deal you will have to sacrifice point blank. Our only hope is to go way over the cape for two season and pray that Amare comes back.

that statement right there is not only delusional, but confusing... You make it seem, if winning a ring is as easy as going to the store and buying a pair of Nike sneakers... You believe he will get a ring if he really wants wants One.. so what you are saying is he never really wanted one.. which leads me to this question..

Why do you like and root for this guy????!!!!

and blame JR smith all you want.. I honestly don't like him at all, but the guy seems to play with more heart than carmelo and he actually does give more effort on defense.. and truth be told, He probably is responsible for more wins this year than carmelo..

Tyson Chandler I would agree...JR Smith...no way.

Dont let a few game winners cloud your view.

I have to agree with this papabear. What you said doesnt make too much sense.

People tend to view up and coming teams as 1 player away until they actually get to the Conf Finals. Knuggets are definitely in contention now.

Not whining im just stating a fact. Look im one of the biggest Knick fans there is. I go to at least 20 games every season even during the isiah years. You have to realize that the reason we are critical of the knicks is because we love the team and wnat them to win

forget his game winners.. I am talking about pretty much consistent EFFORT off the bench..... his effort has been more consistent than carmelo's.... and the game winners are what they are... it isnt clouding my view one bit..

Tyson chandler has been pretty underwhelming this year...

haha, funny thing bonn, go look at the rockets record the past few years..

since 2006

2006-2007 52 wins
2007-2008 55 wins
2008-2009 53 wins
2009-2010 42 wins
2010-2011 43 wins
2011-2012(shortened season) 34 wins
current season 36 wins...

They have won more games than us by far over the past 6 seasons.. yet NY fans make fun of teams like the rockets and rebuilding.... go figure.. the last time we cracked 50 wins was 1999..

Donnie Walsh laid the plans and supplied the murder weapon. He is an accomplice.

really? he laid the plans to this mess? really? where where you the past few years? this can't be your honest assessment of the mess we are in...

Who hired d'antoni and overpaid because he was scared the bulls would take him, while seriously believing leBron would like him?

Who traded away decent players for nothing, while all went on to being productive elsewhere (mainly Z-Bo Crawford and Lee)

Who gave Amare 40 million of uninsured dollars more than his home team?

What happened to our 2012 pick?

And yes Donnie iniated the Melo trade no matter who finished it, he started it.

Yep. Also, Denver wasn't not trading Anthony at the deadline so that they could get nothing for him and he could walk like LBJ and Bosh. Anthony wanted a new deal before the owners locked out the players and 'reigned in' free agency. If Anthony wasn't traded to the KNicks he goes somewhere else at the deadline, probably the Nets. Also, waiting and walking as a free agent would have cost Anthony 25 million dollars. The Nuggets and Anhtony were very motivated to move him at the deadline.

then shame forever on dolan for shoving walsh aside and making the trade. we were in the driver's seat. let melo go to brooklyn or let him twist in the wind. anything but this steaming pile we have to endure.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Jimmy Dol made the big mistake, nobody else did. Melo got the money he wanted, and the hometown city he wanted. No mistake there. Walsh was rebuilding our team and the results? Just look at the Nuggets now, they're 1-2 superstars away from contention and they sure got the cap space for it next year. LeBron didn't come to the Knicks most likely because Delonte allegedly screwed his mom constantly (NY Post), and I doubt Walsh could stop that. There is nothing we can really do. Jimmy Dol already screwed us up for the next 3 years. Not sure what you really are trying to say... get rid of Jimmy Dol? Yes, you got that right, and just say it.

not sure what walsh had to do with this mess. this was all the doing of carmelo and James dolan.. Walsh from what I can remember was hesitant on this trade because it was too costly. Walsh always said.. " a player may be good at one price, but not at another".. He is no fool. he understood that carmelo was not good for us at that price.. So what did carmelo do? he asks to meet with the idiot dolan, who threw walsh to the side. I mean lets not be silly here.. walsh had nothing to do with this union... Carmelo got what he wanted.. Money and to play in NY.. winning really doesn't matter when it comes to guys like dolan and carmelo.. they have both proven that....

Threads like this crack me up.. as some of us so called haters, didn't like the trade from the start for various reasons.. but instead we were called gallo lovers, haters, etc...

All we got in this trade was Denvers problem.. Yes, carmelo was Denver's problem and they did a masterful job unloading it for max value... They are not 1-2 superstars away from contention, they are in contention now.. I don't get it with this "superstar away" stuff.. they are winning now.. they are one of the best teams in the league.... as a team, they are performing on a superstar level and that is all that matters....

I don't think Walsh passes on Melo because Moz is his line in the sand. Not sure what exactly happened but there are not a lot of threads pining for Moz.

Yeah, imagine the backlash if the Knicks didn't dso the deal, and the team sits into eternal lotto, while the Nets improve.

Either way, Walsh was gonna do the deal, he phucked up every other deal by paying 110% of value by showing his hand by telling the WORLD what his plans were.

We are sophisticated, we are impatient, and we've forgotten more basketball than the players who play and the coaches who coach and the GM's who actually GM. Despite fabulously humble posts like the one seen in my sig line. Don't even bring up the billionaire owners who...own.

Once every 20 years or so, we draft a Willis or a Ewing. The rest of the time we draft Kenny Skywalker and Johnny Wallace. Please spare me your sudden case of DLee love, that's been way overdone and is 4 years too late.

1 playoff win in 13 years

It's a good thing we didn't have to go through the pain of rebuilding! I feel so bad for those Denver and Houston fans!

Hahhahahahaha!!

Walsh was gonna make the trade. The only thing Dolan really did was give up any leverage we would have had. He didnt force Walsh to do anything because he was already gonna make the trade to begin with.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

the point i am making eludes you and the many fans who are stubbornly like-minded: carmelo DOES NOT IMPROVE any team he goes to as the central piece! when is that going to sink in?!? who cares if the nets get him? good! he is just another iso player who doesn't defend and doesn't facilitate. he was denver's headache and he could have been brooklyn's.

there would have been backlash from the ignorant and unworthy fans who don't know jack twiddly shyte about how to build a team. instead you got what you wanted: a career loser residing in msg who you can't build a team around because he is a chemistry killer.

your comment on walsh is as false as it is gratuitous. he gave away NOTHING. dolan is the culprit here as usual. my god

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

keep repeating that and it still won't be true-- or change anything.

Dolan, Walsh, And Melo all made big mistakes. If Melo really wanted a ring he should have waited. Really want to be a Knick?
