This what happens when you play in ny and have fans like you. They try to play through pain to satisfy you and the media until the wheels fall off. Otherwise the ny media and fan blogs will be all over him. You never win in todays ny knick market. The pressure of winning a championship is crushing this team every year.

I disagree i think it is the cap that is killing this team. Melo goes down and we dont have the capspace to add reinforcements. Lin was here and we let him walk for nothing. Now we rely on Felton as a second scorer. Not a recipe for success

he can't win no matter what he does. but there's a simple reason for that:

he came here for the money.

so in his mind he wins regardless of what the fans think.

he didn't come to here to win.

but knick fans want him to know that he isn't paid to play he's paid to win.

and knick fans want him to now that he isn't paid to score he's paid to win.

the fans are the victim here. stop blaming the victim.

Or some would rather lead their fantasy league and post about it as well. Or some will begrudgingly acknowledge the team, while holding fiercely to a personal hate/mild dislike of Melo, his game, his attitudes, his habits, his very presence. Polar face palm, indeed.

Funny, he didn't put fans in quotes or italics. And none of the Sombers on here even bother to refute the sentiment. They just post and prove it out. To be right and somber. During the now current spring of our discontentment.

When all else fails, revert to the lowest common denominator: the idiot owner. Who overpays for all the wrong toys and continues to count all his money at the same time. Boo hoo hoo you poor victim fans! Never ever forget that you're entitled to so much more.

new yorkers are not entitled to anything compared with other cities.

in fact acceptance of this glop is proof positive that new yorkers are not actually as intelligent in basketball matters as they'd like to believe.

but i'll tell you what new yorkers are entitled to: competent people owning and running a sports franchise who respect the fanbase and don't try to exploit it.

so where there is exploitation there are going to be the exploited.

the greatest city in the country if not the world has not had a relevant basketball team-- basketaball being "the city game"-- in 15 years and has not won a title in 40 years. only the rangers have gone longer in terms of futility, with 54 years.

dolan loves fans like you. makes you feel good don't it?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Unless you can show me a past post of mine where I got pissed at Melo for not playing through an injury then dont lump me into you generalizations. Ive said in other threads - before the Nuggets game - that he shouldnt play.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Tommy Dee, theKnicksBlog.com

Close your eyes for a second and think back to where you were July 8,2010. Think about the scenarios Lebron James faced before sitting down with Jimmy Roberts Jim Gray. By that time we all knew Miami was the decision and some of us felt badly for the Knicks and some may have even felt for the city of Cleveland as well. But, more importantly, what I felt was a shift in balance that the NBA was going to have to deal with for the next 6 seasons. My first reaction was that the Knicks were in a good position to bring in Carmelo Anthony and from a talent perspective they could at least compete with the heat. In the end, though, that feeling you had in your stomach when you heard heard, “I’m taking my talents…” was the fear of knowing that you weren’t going to be seeing a championship.

Fast forward and now the heat are firing on all cylinders in the exact way you thought they would. And it’s not going away any time soon. Dwyane Wade’s knee is healthy, James is playing at an All-Time clip and Chris Bosh stopped crying.

The heat are unbeatable.

So when Carmelo lips out of the line up I have to say I get upset at the media types who are quick to attack. The fact is Carmelo has delivered this year to this point. With a healthy Melo, the Knicks continue to be above .500 in a stratosphere that some Knicks fans have never seen. They are back atop their division and are in the top 4 of the Eastern Conference. They were poised to host a playoff series and take flight at the Eastern Conference Finals and have a crack as the underdog in a series against James and company. A series, by the way, that no one would ever expect them to win.

So how does Melo win? His knee is cranky and he has to get himself back in MVP-esque form.He has to allow for his body to say, “OK, I’m ready for the final leg of the marathon.”

But does it matter? Did it ever? Do Knicks fans and NBA fans point to Melo’s weaknesses because he’s a flawed player or because they know his odds of being a legendary figure are so small that they’d rather be right than be happy?

People drool over the ease and “all-around game” that Lebron has over Melo and that’s fine, except it’s still pretty unacceptable and cowardly how he ended up in Miami to begin with. Why can’t Melo earn more credit for having the guts to take on the challenge of BIG BAD New York and the media? Why does Lebron continually get a pass that he did a deal to get ESPN and their writers in his pocket safely away harsh criticism?

If the basketball gods are real then I hope they recognize this and allow Melo to regain health and make a passionate push for legendary status here. I hope Melo has his day here and captures the hearts of the city.

Why? Because I’m a NY basketball fan, and I sure as hell respect the fact that he signed up for an incredibly hard and uphill challenge when others blatantly passed on the opportunity.

The Knicks tried to copycat the Celtics and Heat--problem is they have inferior management sans Walsh and an owner who IMHO listens to ONLY Isiah Thomas.

LOL - Briggy delivered more content in one sentence than Tomm Dee did in an entire article.

Briggy did quite well.

He named that tune in one sentance,

I can in one word: "Starphuched"

Same thing. Uggggggh!

This post made my day. Its the counter arguement to the ever so common" Don't tell me not to hate on the Knicks just because I am a real fan and I don't like Melo"

I think thats a pretty blank statement to make. What are fans going to get out of being right? I think youbare confusing that with bfans being realistic. There is nothing exciting about this team unless you are a fan who just enjoys watching games win or lose but then you are the minority. Most fans expect more after 11yrs of garbage not $100mil tied up in Amare uninsured keeping the team from adding another legitimate player to play with Melo and Tyson. We shouldve kept Lin who was a gift from the basketball gods and exactly what our cap strapped team needed. A mjracle that we let slip away for a career 39% shooting pg. It sucks but its the truth. At least now im not as emotionally invested in this team. Just gonna ridr it out like I got used to doing during the isiah yrs. Ride it out til 2015. Maybe we get lucky and trade Amare in the offseason
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

ridiculous post. the fans who are "right" are just as unhappy as those who just didn't want to accept reality. i want to be proven wrong so that i can be happy with this team. not only that but it would mean i learned something.

it would be so refreshing if, instead of accusing others of an "i told you so" attitude, that you and others just admit you are wrong. that would be evidence that you, too, would have learned something.

at least you admit he forced his way here. but guess what, like everything else you reap what you sow.

by the way there is NOTHING to be happy about with this team. those first ten games were a mirage.
