I think rebounding can be taught tho... it's really about geometry and angles, and boxing out. He probably never got the hang of it and was never taught... Kurt Thomas is a decent rebounder, he could teach Amare a thing or two.

Rose is not the answer.

You guys play ball....when were you taught to rebound?

You were taught as a kid....as you get older and get to bang with older guys you learn what boxing it is by default. Maybe since he was a man child and went from high school to the Pris he didn't pick thus up......but he's 30 years old now. He's had to have heard it. He's a man with pride so he's got to see how his rebounding sucks compared to his all star counter parts. Why hadn't he made it guys business to at least becone a better rebounder?

Why? Because a post game gets him the recognition. He's gotten way better inside with three back to the basket. I guess next year he will meet up with Moses Malone and learn hire to rebound in the summer.

Maybe he will learn when he is 35. Maybe we can hire Rodman to teach him to rebound this offseason ,LOL

i mean, this is rebounding:

keep your man away from the area where the ball is likely to rebound to, and then grab the ball,

i can't even count the number of rebounds i produce in rec league by boxing out every single shot, and not even for myself,

when you box out you clean the paint so that the defending team has room to grab the board,

and that's it in 2 seconds, i don't see why amar'e can't rebound, i don't get it, just doesn't have it in him i guess

Does this apply to Melo as well, or only the people you deem worthy???

I knew this reply was coming. Melo exceeds in volume scoring only. Amare is more efficient. 55% for his career

I agree. Sometimes Stat seems to just tune out of a play. Not intentionally, just looks like he doesn't know where to be on the floor defensively, to be in the best place to grab a rebound.

On offense he looks like he can see things a step or two ahead of the defense at times, but on defense too often its the opposite. Can't rebound without effort though. Stat needs to improve in both those areas.

So volume scoring is a negative but how is it any different than lack of rebounding or inability to stay with your man on defense??? Hopefully we all can agree that although those things are as you say "negative", that perhaps we would be better served as a fan base as you also say "focusing on the positives".
I hope i'm not putting words in your mouth, really just trying to point out the hypocrisy.

What i mean is Melo doesnt exceed in any one are but volume scoring. You can win 50games with Melo tho if he has an effient yr like when Denver went to the ecf. Same way phx did with Amare. Flaws are ok as long as guys like tyson do the dirty work and kidd and jr and novak knock down jumpers

It's hopeless.
