The guy is 35 years old and he's use to winning , so he knows how to play winning basketball.

Look at his resume:
In 2001, Prigioni joined the Spanish club Lucentum Alicante, and he played there until 2003. In 2003, Prigioni joined the Euroleague team Saski Baskonia. With Baskonia he won several titles, including: 3 Spanish King's Cups in the years 2004, 2006, 2009, 4 Spanish Supercups in the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and the Spanish Championship in 2008.

Not one knicks has won as many championships as he.

People underestimate his knowledge in how to play the game in his rookie yr in the NBA

One of our biggest needs in the offseason will be to address the PG position both short and longer term. Having Prigioni was a stop gap. Hes played fine for what he does but we are paying J Kidd to be the mature PG and we need to use J Kidd and his knowledge to tutor a new PG.

We aren't talking offseason are we ? We are talking about this season. He signed a one yr contract

Can you admit when Prigs comes into the game we get the ball moving the right way ?

If you feel that we are going to win a championship--this is a viable discussion. If Prigioni is not a piece to build on--what does it matter? This means nothing--we have little to no chance of beating the Heat Bulls or Pacers. Once we are eliminated Priginoi is on the first place out--so why do I care?

The only questions I have for this season:

Will Coach Woodson play JR Smith as our starting 2 G for 40 minutes and will JR take the pledge to shoot only 2 3 Pt shots a game unless he makes them? Will he(JR Smith) stick to take it hard to the hoop and or penetrate kick dish and stick to the open 14 footer?
Will Carmelo Anthony be healthy and pass the ball a little more when the shot is not there?
Will Amare give me 33 minutes a game?
Will Steve Novak be more consistent with his jumpshot?
Will J Kidd give me the same consistent production for the bench we have seen the last two games?

Thats it---it has little to do with Priginoni

Step 1---stop fcking around and commit to start JR Smith for the rest of the season--and let JR know he is under scrutiny to play within the limits set up for him--meaning only 2 3 pt shots a game unless he hits them.

Step 2 commit Amare for 33 minutes.

Those are my two steps. I dont need Amare starting. I need a pro 2 guard to start and quite frankly I might even start Novak in this group.

Line up

C- Tyson
F- Novak
F Anthony
G JR Smith
G Felton
CPF Amare
G J Kidd
G Prigioni
9 is Camby/Thomas/Kenyon can spell 10 minutes upfront. Everyone else gtfo and stfu.

Yes this team has a chance to win a championship this yr. There is only one way for them to play to get it done.

Now if the coaches and the players don't agree to play the ball movement good help trapping defense then we have no chance.

I for one know they know how to play this way and Prigioni will play a great part in steering the ship when this style of play is implemented on a consistent basis.

Why do you think league officials and TV announcers took notice with the knickS earlier on, they saw the knicks as a team bought in.

If Carmelo Anthony plays the right way and starts to defend , the rest of the team falls right in line and we are a tough matchup for anyone.

Prigioni is ONE of the players on the team who becoms a leader on the court by his play not his popularity.

He's what I call a true point guard, with a pass first shoot second mentality! He has great court vision , great ball handling and plays the passing lanes better than most point guards.

THIS IS THE TEAM I'M TALKING ABOUT

But the main thing is the role players that NEED to help. Its been great seeing J Kidd play well off the bench where he shouldve been to start. It was J Kidd and Novak along with Amare who changed this game. Novak has to be more consistent--he plays a role that we need--hes got to be able to play better and more consistent.

Start JR Smith ? Oh-for first 6.or 3 for 13

I don't think its a good idea he don't let NY get into their offensive schemes @ game beginning
The little offense Ny has at times,

Rather have Copeland activated, cut White
At least Chris scores & he don't force shots will take the ball inside, can't defend
But can offensive rebound.

JR energy or spurts is best 1st off the bench period

Shump will go 1-4

First of all it doesn't matter if J.R starts or not he still plays starter minutes.

Watch if Melo doesn't play tonight, the team will pass the ball around and everybody including Chandler will shoot the rock.

Novak starting is as bad as Kidd starting, they both are bench players.

Iman Shumpert who you excluded has more cahones than 3/4 of the Knicks team, we need attitude in the starting line up.

JR Smith a valued streaky shooter/scorer is like
Steph Marbury they are both PLAY-Busters or will ruin called plays only JR don't have
Skill set the troublesome Marbs had

Iman Shumpert getting healthy in the next 25 games or so is what we need to for the knicks to be successful defensively on the perimeter. Also he's the type of player who retrieves long rebounds off the opponents missed shots while Kidd rebounds underneath the basket.

Since Melo ball has returned, I've noticed it effects the other players on offense and defense. With them knowing that they have a good chance of actually getting the chance to score is gonna make them give more effort on both sides of the ball. Can't say the team is better, but it is better team ball.

When the best player is out, the backups will play at 100% to try to show the coaches that they deserve to play.

This is not always Melo's fault and it's what Melo detractors fail to see. He's been passing a lot this year. He didn't just decide to start shooting more shots. As players got injured, started going into slumps, etc he took more of the offensive load. He's not going to keep passing to guys that aren't hitting shots, nor should he. But when he gets back I think we can find that rhythm again where everyone gets a touch and plays hard D. I will say his D needs to get back to where it was earlier in the year.

I agree, and of course Melo's D needs to get back to where it was earlier in the year, outside of jumping into the stands for the ball.

When everybody is relatively healthy I want to see the team play the way they are capable with Carmelo Anthony leading the way.

The role players were always capable to help out the stars of the team. The only issue has been what style of play the leaders of the team were influencing the rest of the team.

Not that they are both out with injury, we are back to playing the way Woodson envisioned at the beginning of the season.

We need to look closely at who's on the court at what time to see Woodson strategy being run to perfection.
