i believe by sheer ineptitude the clippers were in a position to draft blake griffin. then stern was able to put the deal through for them to get chris paul.

knicks were also helped by stern. but dolan squandered the opportunity to right the ship. it may well be 20 years as you say but it would be a crime to fall back into irrelevance, not that dolan gives a sh!t. it would be great if our owner cared about winning more than revenue and duping the fanbase.

knicks were a joke and a laughingstock for years and as such were irrelevant to all but new yorkers whether local or far and wide. i am pretty sure that rooting for a team with a piece of **** like dolan as an owner is almost impossible except for the hardcore fanatics.

but in a way time is on dolan's side because a sucker is born every minute.

Hey DK7th you never said that you would be a fan or are a fan. I never believed you were a Knicks fan anyway and probably all the fan on this forum believe that you are a fan. You are the only one who side stepped the question. LOL GOTCHA!

He gave De'Andre Jordan 4yrs $50mil

He extended Griffin at Max $99mil

He signed Caron Butler 3yrs $24mil mil

He signed Jamal Crawford 4yrs $22mil

He wants to keep Bledsoe which will require paying him

For me I say yes simply because I am a Knicks lover. There are teams in the NBA who never won a championship but they keep on rooting for thier team. I want to see how many on this forum would stop being Knicks fans. Or how many critics of the Knicks will swallow the pain and continue being a Knicks fan.

Being a fan of the Knicks does not mean you can't criticize them.

It's complicated. Here are the facts: I despise the owner and since the fish rots from the head down, or the franchise is an extension of the owner, I find it very hard to root like a typical fan. I have been forced to be less emotionally invested and following franchises that are well run and have intelligent GMs coaches and players.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Papabear,

You need to respect the honesty. Dolan alienates his fans by being a prick. Fans are not owned, there are earned. We are not robots.

Actually, you always have a "bug up your butt" because you're defensive about everything regarding the Knicks and insult everyone you don't agree with and question their fan loyalty. You're the # 1 culprit. That's not an over-exaggeration either. Out of all the people on this forum you are the one that looks to start trouble with your usually incoherent rants while referring to yourself in third person.

et's say Knicks only win 30% of the rest of thier games and loose 1st playoff round

Its happened before and might happen again.

I moved out of NYC in 1985. Been a fan my whole life. Can't take it out from the inside.

I follow other teams. Im a basketball fan. Its simple really.

when the knicks are done I'll root for others to succeed. Every year knicks don't make it some other team will.

Knicks first and foremost.

If we started selling our draft picks, like Robert Sarver in Phoenix, or trading away every decent young player because they're due for a raise, like Donald Sterling in LA, I would probably have to quit until there was new ownership or the current owner had a change of heart. It's why I was so pissed off this Summer after the Lin fiasco, even though there's a decent chance he isn't the key to putting us over the top, and why I hate the Sprewell for KVH trade so much, even though I could probably name 5 or 10 other trades that were way more damaging. I believe those moves had absolutely nothing to do with improving the team when they were made or giving us maneuverability to improve the team in the near future; they were moves made because of personal vendettas by the owner against the players involved. As bad and poorly thought out as virtually every move we've made since trading Ewing to Seattle for garbage on long term deals at least they were made in an attempt to improve the team.

This is way over exaggerated...

He did not pay Olowakandi(EPIC BUST!)

He did not offer Andre Miller a contract(okay maybe not fair letting him walk to Denver although Miller trashed the org)

He offered Lamar Odom 3yrs $24mil not 6yrs $60mil like the Heat

He traded D-Miles(really he should have paid this clown?)

He traded Q-Rich(really he should have paid this SNITCH!)

He probably would have paid Livingston had his knee not went Raggedy Andy on him

He gave Kaman 5yrs $55mil

He extended Sam Cassell

He signed Vladamir Radmonavich to 3yr $12mil

He signed Ryan Gomes to 3yrs $12mil

He gave Brand an extension and then offered him 6yrs $79mil but he left for Philly for $2mil more

He traded for Camby after Camby received his extension from Denver(like a 2yr $20mil extension)...that's like almost signing a player

He gave Baron 5yrs $65mil

He traded for Zach Randolph giving up expiring contracts when Zach had $33mil left on his deal

He was going to give Gordon an extension

He gave De'Andre Jordan 4yrs $50mil

He extended Griffin at Max $99mil

He signed Caron Butler 3yrs $24mil mil

He signed Jamal Crawford 4yrs $22mil

He wants to extend CP3 at Max over $100mil

He wants to keep Bledsoe which will require paying him

Sterling and Baylor being cheap is Primarily MYTHICAL!!!!!

Holy **** dude,a you kidding me? I don't time now but why don't you take a look at all 30years he's owned the team instead of just the last 5 or so.

He forgot Danny Manning. No. 1 pick, great kid, they don't sign him and the clips look cheap. Kid keeps getting hurt and never lives up to his contract.

If anything they draft badly but Sterling rarely threw good money after bad. Over 30 years they really were bad for a myriad of reasons. Many franchises make mistakes but also get lucky. Not them, seems like they were snake bit. They made money and when Sterling had no more debt he started to spend more.

The record speaks for itself but 3g4g brings up a very good point as far as some of the moves made really were logical in terms of spending.

let's hope he strikes hot pancakes one time in the future like sterling with blake and paul,

only then can jimmy be redeemed, so we need to get a top pick and sign a superstar worth the bucks,

sometime in the next 20 years knicks will compete at a high level, we just have to be patient for the payoff

i believe the problem with the clippers has always been sterling first and foremost but then also baylor.

i believe by sheer ineptitude the clippers were in a position to draft blake griffin. then stern was able to put the deal through for them to get chris paul.

knicks were also helped by stern. but dolan squandered the opportunity to right the ship. it may well be 20 years as you say but it would be a crime to fall back into irrelevance, not that dolan gives a sh!t. it would be great if our owner cared about winning more than revenue and duping the fanbase.

knicks were a joke and a laughingstock for years and as such were irrelevant to all but new yorkers whether local or far and wide. i am pretty sure that rooting for a team with a piece of **** like dolan as an owner is almost impossible except for the hardcore fanatics.

but in a way time is on dolan's side because a sucker is born every minute.

Hey DK7th you never said that you would be a fan or are a fan. I never believed you were a Knicks fan anyway and probably all the fan on this forum believe that you are a fan. You are the only one who side stepped the question. LOL GOTCHA!

It's complicated. Here are the facts: I despise the owner and since the fish rots from the head down, or the franchise is an extension of the owner, I find it very hard to root like a typical fan. I have been forced to be less emotionally invested and following franchises that are well run and have intelligent GMs coaches and players.

So damit admit it! You're not a Knicks fan. I finally got it out of you. You are a hater and not a fan. I can respect that. Now go find yourself another team to root for. It's about time you admited it.

If you were born and raised in new York you would realize that this is impossible. Where were you born and raised?

I grew up in New York had a business partner who was a Knicks player for a while. Born in the deep south and came to New York as a baby. Was an ex gang banger and grew out of that life style have a Masters degree in music.Worked with the best musicians in New York Produced over 30 hit records. Just last year nominated for a Stellar award. Now who are you??

you are living a full, interesting and rewarding life, and i am happy for you. it wasn't necessary to share all that. i appreciate the overture but at the same time i cannot oblige you by reciprocating as fully. i was born and raised in new york city, moved to san francisco for a number of years during high school and played on some top flight bay area teams. my coach played pro ball and taught me and my teammates old school basketball. after high school i traveled a lot while muddling through college. i too have been involved in music, as a musician. i eventually received a master's in philosophy. i eventually moved back to new york and now own and run a multi-million dollar business, where i take great pride in developing people.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Jersey City, born and bred. Lived on the PATH going back and forth to downtown and then up to the Garden. Spent 5 years working in Manhattan in the mid to late '80's. Moved out to the suburbs when the market crashed in '87. Geography has little to nothing to do with it.

Survived Tom McMillen. Louie Orr. Greg Butler. Dopey Eddie Lee Wilkins fist pumping after making a layup during the last 15 seconds of garbage time losses.

I survived Isaiah Thomas. I survived Marbury. I survived Scott Layden. I am and will continue to survive Dolan.

I am a Knicks fan. First, last and foremost. It's not because of the chips of history, which I was only 10 years old for. It's not for the Debusschere draft moment or the Ewing era. It's not because of Clyde or Willis or Bradley or Spree or LJ or Oak or Mase or Mark Jackson's rookie year. It's not even for Melo coming home.

It's not for any pragmatic reasons. Which is why I don't expect too many people on here to understand.

The Knicks are my team. I chose them, they did not choose me. Robots don't choose, robots get chosen.
Robots are not capable of being a fan. Robots look and analyze numbers, primarily. They ingest results. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I want to win a chip every year, but the NBA season ends each year for me when the Knicks are eliminated. I might watch or listen to other teams' results out of morbid curiosity, but it's really not that interesting for me.

If it's not about the Knicks, I'd rather be outside or in the gym, working on the j and the vertical.

Let's say Knicks only win 30% of the rest of thier games and loose 1st playoff round.same R U still a Knicks Fan? yes or no?
