exactly. Guys want him (shump) to come back from SEVER knee surgery and instantly be what he was before or better. It takes time and not having balled in so long also has a negative effect. Maybe we just have a whole lot of fat asses who know nothing about physical exertion or sports. I'm surprised he hasn't looked worse considering that he was wasn't exactly a good shooter to begin with.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

You dont go from torn acl/mcl to shooting lights out in a few weeks. Whatever offense Shumpert gives us this year is a bonus. Just shuffle them feet young man!

Someone has to defend the perimeter. Cos Felton and Kidd get torched by 98% of the leagues PGs

Exactly. Guys are already calling for his head when we should be thankful to see him on the floor and, hopefully he will be 100% come playoffs where he will be essential to any possible success.

Shump will be back and I think most of us never questioned that. Hopefully he doesn't lose much athleticism. Anyway, he has long arms and they are probably faster than last year. Just hoping for him to develop a shot, after all, he is a SG.

So was bruce bowen. He doesnt have to be dwayne wade on offense. Just be able to hit the 3 at a somewhat consistent clip. That is worse case scenrio of course. He is still vurtually a rookie. No one can say for sure what his offensive ceiling is

He hasnt even played a full 82 games

I think Shumpert and Felton will be fine. We need another backup guard bad tho. I also think JR Smith should get a chance to start. The 5 who finished last night were our most impressive group. Smith should get a try with Amare as 6th man.

We have a backup guard who is hardly getting any playing time and not playing that bad. But I agree with you.

It's true he can help. I think we just need to draft a PG to try and develop. But Kidd has started long enough. Move Shump back to the 2 and give JR a chance at the 3. He will put up points quick, has great chemistry with Melo, and deserves a shot. He drives us all crazy but it is long overdue. A lot of teams would give him a shot as a starter.

what is woody seeing in practice that is making white's ass stay glued to the bench when kidd is doing so crappy?

does woody keep starting kidd

a) out of respect for one of the best to every play PG
b) because White is really that bad
c) he thinks Kidd's confidence would be shattered
d) he knows we need Kidd playing well and sitting on the bench isn't going to help him get out of a shooting slump

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Some Knick fans are fickle, as Camby himself said. Shumpert will be fine and he took a nice step last night. Curry was going to score 53 no matter who was guarding him.

If anything, Shumpert was overaggresive, but that will work out on it's own.

These guys are not my biggest worries. I'm more worried about Felton's inability to guard. I'm not sure that'll improve.

Kidd's shot will come back at some point, I believe. Maybe not like at the start of the season, which I always thought was unsustainable, but at least enough to keep the defense honest (35% from 3). He's still getting his hands on plenty of balls, getting rebounds, and doing all the little things that someone who knows the game and sees the court like few others ever had. I'd like to see his minutes down, at least until the playoffs, but I expect his shooting will improve over the next couple of weeks.

And I agree with what others have said about Shump last night. Was a big improvement in terms of energy and intensity, which is exactly what we need from him.

They've gotta get these guys off the court. Right now that would mean starting 2 players out of Smith, Novak, and Amare.

James White would be a better version of experiment of Brewer starting earlier in the year. White can defend and he can slash and run the floor because he's super athletic.

I would have to say (A)

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

nix what I said about Arenas, even though I was halfway joking. Been reading about him playing for the Sharks. He himself says he's "old" and the NBA season is too long. Guess he never really recovered from those surgeries.

James White never seems to play with much intensity- he never looks like he's trying that hard when he's on the court. Still, Kidd is giving us nothing but airballs so what would be the harm? Also Woodson really needs to start lengthening his rotation- it's suicide going into the March schedule with this aged roster and a short rotation.

your right about the rotation. He definitely needs to expand it and he needs to stop playing Melo over 40minutes a game. Come playoffs, the guy is going to be running of fumes.

Also, why is he still starting at the 4. When Kurt gets play time he produces on both ends and playing his natural position, the 3, Melo is less likely to get injured or in foul trouble.

If Delonte hasn't had a contract at all this season, the deadline is the last day of the regular season, otherwise you are correct.

The thing is, you can't start both because they are playing out of position and both are black holes on offense. If you aren't starting Amar'e, which you should, then start Copeland at 3 and Shumpert at 2. Cope doesn't play D? So what? The team hasn't in more than two months, so get the most you can get out of him offensively. Let Tyson be Super D-man!

The 3 position is the glue for any teams offense and defense, you can look to any team and see this.

If melo is not gonna be the three the team should have made an effort to get somebody ft the hold that down.
