Knicks saying they expect to keep Sheed on the roster, might be ready for the playoffs. Terrible decision if true. Stress fractures are tricky enough and I doubt that a 38 year old will be ready to contribute in about 8 weeks. Hell, if anything wouldn't we be able to cut Sheed now, sign someone else to take his spot, and then if he's making good progress in his recovery couldn't we cut someone else, Copeland, White, and resign Sheed? The guy IS INJURED, he is of NO VALUE on the roster, Why dont they replace him with an able bodied person? Even if he does come back for the playoffs, playoff basketball is much more intense....and at that point he wouldnt have run in over 2 months..... |

With all the holes this team has, and with the decent talent that's available, it's an unconscionable decision. Now the joy of my world is in Zion

In regards to the playoffs, despite the doom and gloom on this forum I think the Knicks make it out of the first round this year at least. The playoffs are stretched out. There are not back to backs and Sheed could be ready at some point to play in the playoffs. If the team can get a vet that can contribute now and in the playoffs I think they should. If they are going to get a Gadzuric type or a young player that will never sniff the court they might as well keep Sheed. Earlier in the year guys, especially Cope, were talking about Sheed's positive influence on them and working with them. That might be worth more than a Gadz type signing or Henry Sims signing etc. I think we will know in two days as Friday is March 1.
