Do we get a prize for collecting the full set of injury prone old PF/Cs? Only joking, I hope he's able to give us something- shouldn't be a problem chemistry wise as he's played with JR, Melo, Kidd, Felton and Camby. We need a bit more toughness on the roster- our players seem to have become a bit softer since they started getting on so well- time to get a bit more serious.

Wonder who the Heat are after.

I'd still waive White or Thomas and grab a young PG or SG.

the problem is that they should have done this BEFORE the Allstar break. He would have had some time to work on his fitness (not much but some is better than none) and he would have had the opportunity to start learning the plays and defensive rotations.

They did Brewer a favor and got a pick. Better late then never.

They waited for O'neal to get waived. Once PHX waived Zeller instead the Knicks moved on Kmart

They were probably working on other deals before realizing the Brewer deal was the best they could get.

Well, we knew our core was already established with Melo, 'Mare and Chandler so whoever expected more moves was simply daydreaming.

We do look like garbage and contrary to others' theories, it wasn't because of the trading deadline, but the mental weakness this team has shown for months now. Im shocked Woody hasn't been able to work with this.

Knicks really needed a big so this move will have some impact on the team. I still wonder if Sheed will play again because we still need a young guard on this team. Right now Shump still can't be fully trusted and Kidd just doesn't cut it anymore masqueraded as an SG, even if he isnt a PG anymore. Still, the biggest need at guard may still be a young PG, which is pretty disappointing on Felton's part.

Now that only minor moves, if any at all, can be expected, can the Knicks that care about winning please show up?

Kmart might be better than O'neal because O'neal is always hurt. With Sheed and Camby thats the last thing we need

There was a report that they wanted Martin. Berman just tweeted that Warkentien was the personnel guy in Denver and really wanted KMart.

I didn't watch the Clippers much last year.
Alan Hahn‏@alanhahn

Kenyon Martin averaged 1.7 blocks in 17 minutes per game in 11 playoff games last spring for the Clippers. #Knicks needed a rim presence.

well this ended up well. i like kenyon, he's old and he probably won't do a whole lot stats-wise but atleast he's got some balls and he can yell at some people. this team needs players that actually have some passion and fire , like kenyon does and you always know he is going to bring it defensively.

i would love if sheed somehow finds his way back.

Hopefully he can find some of that chemistry he and Kidd had again. The guy is nasty. Hated him as an opponent.

no, I'm talking about the K-Mart pick up. IT should have been done pre AS.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

We should be utilizing White. He's not bad when given spot minutes. Drop KT if need be.

I have no idea why he didn't play against the Pacers when it was clear that Kidd, Felton, and JR weren't getting it done on D.

HE is basically the PF version of Brewer except he can finish around the basket but still capable of switching and guarding 4, 5,& 3s.

We're officially a very much Older Denver Nuggets Team from the 2000. We're so predictable too, in almost everything we do. Our RATTLED scale just went off the RICHTER!!!!

Not true. We have a "defense first coach" in Woody. SOOOOO much better than . Obviously poor team D is 100% the coach's fault right. Wait a minute...

Martin makes two game saving plays

Kmart has been doing this all his basketball career, don't come in the paint because he's a great help defender that has nothing to lose playing for the Knicks.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Good move, in addition to low post help maybe Martin can help this team get some of the attitude back that it had to start the season.
Can't do it alone of course.

This will help our defense and team toughness. I d prefer Oneal but Kmart is a capable substitute. Lets hope Oneal does not go to Miami. Now lets hope a guard gets release that can shoot.

A http://perspective on Kenyon Martin, from his previous general manager, Neil Olshey:http://sulia.com/channel/new-york-knicks/f/84afcd39-18bd-4fff-9f6c-c8934a054b97/?source=twitter

A perspective on Kenyon Martin, from his previous general manager, Neil Olshey:
"He demands excellence from everyone around him," Olshey told Yahoo! Sports in November. (Olshey was the Clippers GM last season but since moved on to run the Portland Trail Blazers).

"He expects coaches to be prepared. He expects his teammates to compete at the same high level that he does," Olshey continued. "The one thing about Kenyon, if guys are not performing and are not as intense or focused on playing winning basketball, he's not reluctant to let them know about it. And I think that can be misperceived at times."

In a very physical first-round series with the Memphis Grizzlies, Martin played a major role off the bench in the Clippers' success. He came up big in Game 7 at Memphis, with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. He averaged 1.9 blocks per game in the series.

Boy do we need that quality right now!
