I see your point i just think you are better off keeping your star and getting creative to build around him. Trading him doesn't solve the issue.

You cant build around him when you have amare eating up almost half the cap tho

Unless you wait til after 2015 and Melo takes a pay cut in hopes of finally getting a ring

Teams trade for lottery picks all the time. Look at chicago trading Curry for our lottery pick and drafting Noah. I would love Minnys lottery pick to go along with our 24th pick or so. Hell maybe we win the lottery for the first time since Ewing!

Amare will be an expiring contract after 1 more full year. If you wait until 2015 Melo is still only 30/31 years old. Build assets and keep trying. Had Celtics traded Pierce a long time ago they would have never won a title. Had Spurs gone into rebuild mode a few years back they wouldn't have a shot at a title like they do now. Mavs won with Dirk by sticking to a plan and not blowing it up when it looked like they peaked. Much greater chance you win with Melo then trade him for a crap shoot.

gunsnewing...melo isnt going anywhere...whether we agree or disagree, melo isnt going anywhere until 2015 at least
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Roy $5m
Buddinger $942,293
8th pick
Total $24m

Minnesota gets a star/"superstar" whatever you wanna call it to pair up with Love, Rubio and Pekovic
A shooter in Novak who will work well with Rubio

Knicks get major cap relief
future star PF Derrick Williams
Savy starting PG who can knock down shots consistently 46% shooter
and the 8th overall pick in this years draft

Thats all I got for now. Going to work on seperate Tyson and Amare trades brb

I can't stay up for west coast games during the week. It must have been worse than the box score made it look.

As opposed to waiting til 2015 and risk getting it wrong again like how we struck out on lebron and settled for $100MIL UNINSURED AMARE

Guns, you tryin' to be funny? Why you b usin' logic?

When the goal is to win a championship and the combination of your star and your current cap situation means you'll never get here. Then he is definitely part of the issue.

We should've traded traded these guys last year when their values were at an all time high. No we are stuck holding the bag. We will never anything close to what we gave up for Melo. These years later and we have to start from scratch. We need competent people in the front office or its going to be a long time before we turn the corner

Ha Ha Ha...I also started doing a search on Blow Up threads. We have a lot of them

https://www.google.com/#q=site%3Aultimateknicks.com%20blow%20this%20up

We really need to blow this **** up. The fastest way is to auction off Melo. The likes of Houston and the Clippers will be knocking on Knick doors.

I think the Rockets have the most attractive assets out there and Melo will put them over the championship hump.

Melo for Asik, Lin, Parsons, Montiejunas, Greg Smith and 1st Round pick.

tkf - I know you think Morey will never send Parsons away but I think there is a chance. If not..I would still do it. Just add another pick.

Bocker I think parsons is the most important player on the Rockets. .Not the BEST, but the most IMPORTANT.... no way he moves parsons in any trade to get carmelo.. especially giving up a first round pick

and look, asik has a high asking price, and this is what morey does, he tells people, you want our players, you are going to pay? they don't have to trade asik at all, they are still damn good.

I think they have their eyes set on ryan anderson, and asik would fit well with the pelicans. If you go out and put LIn, Parsons and Monti, on the open market, you sure as hell are going to get back more than carmelo... I am just trying to be real, I don't think carmelo's value is that high as some like to think on the open market... The rockets dont' need carmelo at all, not at all..

Just think, if they lose parsons, they lose a wing defender who is decent, a ball handler, a passer, their deep ball shooter, their slasher, their glue guy.. who in their right mind gives that up in a deal plus a pick for carmelo.. they have scoring. They don't need carmelo at all..

moving carmelo for good value is going to be hard bro... If you had most GM's in the league talk off the record, they would probably tell you they don't want carmelo unless you get him cheap. he offers very little and teams can compensate for scoring...

Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF

What was what the Knicks traded for Melo worth in your mind? Durant? LeBron? Paul?

as much as i love gallinari and chandler.. those guys have done nothing in this league. gallinari is still probably my favorite player in the league, but he's nothing more than a solid player. id still make that trade again today 10 times out of 10.

I would say 2014 lottery picks but right now we might only get late 1st rounders since lottery teams are will value their picks more than ever this year

Gallo, Chandler, and Mozgov and 1 or 2 lottery picks for a player who just puts up a lot of PPG?
