Raymond is so much better than Lin why are we looking at Ridnour? If he backs up Raymond then what does that say about the Kidd/Prigs signings? Also who's to be given up for Ridnour? The fact we're even looking at a point guard of his caliber speaks volumes.

Feltons very physical play is worrying though he has been a pit bull health wise, for the most part. It still is sad we let Lin go (for nothing) and did some of the other signings. I would much rather have had Lin and let Novak walk along with signing only one of the two tall old guys (due to injury concerns.) I like Felton, but would have ideally liked to see Lin and Felton playing it out for the starters role and Kidd being their teacher. You just don't let high IQ PG's go for nothing. My biggest concern was replacing Lin and the old folks getting injured, and this continues to be true. It might end up being our downfall, though I think Felton does fit the team well but he does not have the court vision, passing ability and IQ that Lin has and that isn't debatable. Felton though, is very good at what he does, just wish he could pass better. He is great at driving and premeditatively dishing to an "open" guy, but when you watch him, he just misses too many open guys, head down thing.

I get being frustrated about Lin leaving but the other stuff frustrates me when it is brought up. If one of the two tall guys you are talking about that the Knicks signed is Rasheed you know that he is on a vet minimum contract and that will have no impact on the third year of the new cba when Lin's contract ballooned up with the poison pill. Also, Camby's deal is essentially two years. The third year I believe is a team option but had to be included so that a sign and trade could be done. Also, Lin was a restricted free agent that signed a poison pill contract. The contract was structured by Morey so that it was almost impossible for the Knicks to match.

Very bored with Lin fans but I can answer your questions for you.

- Ridnour would be a back-up
- Kidd is no longer a PG (hasn't been for a couple of years)
- Pablo was brought in as (league minimum) back-up as well

One could argue that Ridnour would be the best PG on our team -- he's paid about the same as Felton I see. I believe both combined make less than Jeremy the Great.

If not its going to be hard for shooters to get open looks in the playoffs. We watched what happened against the Clips when we had problems getting to the rim.

I was for giving Novak until the end of the season, but if we can address a more important need then I'm for it.

Once you get your guard you wont have any shooters left other than the two that take all the shots anyway. Not sure what his really buys us.

Novak isn't getting nearly enough touches to make a difference, and too often is an after thought in the offense. If we were talking about last season I would agree with you. If they aren't going to make the most of what Novak brings to the table, I'd rather they trade for someone who can create some space for the shooters. That's a big need IMO.

The New York Knicks have expressed interest in Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Luke Ridnour, according to source.

I would trade Shump for Ridnour in a heart beat.

I've been calling for Ridnour since the D'Antoni days.

i think we saw spurts of Iman today, especially in the first quarter
if it wasn't for his injury I would have very high hopes in improvements this year
unfortunately, the way our team is constructed, this year is probably our best chance in competing for a ring and I do not think we are strong enough to be LEGIT contender
anything can happen as long as we get in the playoffs and I am not saying we can't win it, I am saying we would not be a #1 or even #2 favorites to do so in the East alone
Luckily we only have to face 1 western conference team

Teams that I have ranked ahead of us include

Miami
Bulls
Pacers

Team's on par with us

Philly and Boston being on par with us, Philly is a big wildcard with Bynum

No slouches

Atlanta and Bucks

If they can get in, teams that could be deadly, and give some higher seeds trouble, hopefully Miami if so

Toronto *With Gay, Lowry, Val and Bargani healthy, they make an incredible push,
Wizards highly unlikely but with John Wall, Nene, Ariza, Ok4, Beal, Crawford, Webster all healthy, they can be a very dangerous team

Not for nothing but so did stoudemire. Ridnour was stats first choice.

Ridnour is better orchestrator than felton.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Now people are hyping Ridnour.

The guy is a backup at best. His defense is non-existent as well.

Ridnour will likely be getting chewed out by Woodson in no time.

Rid would be a great back up, I would Novak in a second.

Ridnour is not much worse defensively than Felton, Kidd & Prigioni

Not sure why this matters.

If you look at opponents' PER (not the best stat but better than nothing), Felton and Ridnour are pretty comparable (and bad) on defense. They're pretty comparable on offense too. Ridnour has slightly better shot selection.

Have you seen all his shots to make this claim?

Yeah he is. Not only do guards blow by him, but he's weak and gets pushed around as well.

And how is that different than Felton, Kidd, and Prigioni?
