Have or had? Amundson is on the streets as an FA.

I wouldn't mind the addition of Amundson but wouldn't Kenyon Martin be the better fit?
And since Amundson was waived, why didn't we pick him up from the waivers instead *unless taxpayers lose this ability???

I think Jannero Pargo would be a solid pick up at PG, which Atlanta did not offer another 10day contract yet, we simply need a player that can stay in front of PG's as our
3 headed monster of Felton/Kidd/Pablo has troubles with PG's with speed/quickness
While he might not be extremely talented, he is a veteran that understands his role, can hit the wide open 3point shot, can facilitate/penetrate, and play decent DEF

My goodness I would do that--anyone else?

Mislap yes but wouldn't that be a 1/2 yr? I don't know how bird rights and stuff like that work.

I would, why the heck would the Jazz!?!?

Last I read on K-mart, he doesn't have a contract because he still won't play for the vet minimum. The Knicks are also waiting on Camby and Sheed, but I think that's a mistake. It's time to look for a young big who can serve as the fourth big behind Melo, Amare and Chandler. Ideally the guy is big and can rebound.

Spare parts or money for Jermaine O'Neal makes a lot of sense, even if he is yet another aging big. The team would be a lot better if you had any one of a healthy Camby, O'Neal or Wallace going into the playoffs. That said, I'm not dealing Shumpert just to get O'Neal back because I don't like the other players the Suns have.

The way I look at the guard landscape, getting Shumpert back to form is the best way to improve the perimeter defense right now. There just isn't a lot out there right now. If the return on Shumpert is Paul Milsap, then that's a deal you have to make. Money-wise you'd be looking at Shumpert/Novak/Thomas for Milsap, but that's still a good trade for the Knicks.

My issue with O'Neal is that every year he has been inured for a big chunk of time. Now he's on the suns with their magical medical staff he's fine- but take him away from that and the chances are he'll go back to being injured. Both Steve Nash and Grant hill went down with significant injuries almost as soon as they left Phoenix- it's weird.

Then we'd be stuck with 3 injured, old front court players. At this point I'd rather consider Almundson, since he'd be free.

Sad right?

Talk of Jerome beasting is ridiculous - as soon as he gets here he will have some sort of undisclosed injury and join Camby and Wallace on the bench. No thanks - keep Shump.

I thought Pargo was playing somewhere and doing really well. On a 10 day but getting minutes and contributing. Are you sure he is available?

He makes little to nothing and would be awesome next to Tyson--because he can score in the low block--and while Tyson does not block shots Oneal does. That would give us a three big man rotation of Oneal Tyson and Amare---dominant for any club to contend with. Neither Wallace or Camby can produce what Oneal can right now he looks physically great--young and bouncy. If we cant make a deal for Shumpert--can we do a $ deal with Oneal--the owner is cheap.

On a side note it was reported the Knicks and Wolves are talking but no names mentioned.

I noticed the same thing Briggs. I wouldn't quite say he looked great but he looked much quicker/bouncier than both Sheed or Camby showed when healthy. I agree - Jermaine would be a nice get and he looks like his weight is down considerably.

Not sure where Milsap fits here - given we love to play Melo at PF, plus you've got Stat & potentially Sheed. While I love Milsap's game --- adds toughness -- not sure he helps our PG or outside shooting situation.

I guess you could start Milsap and he would probably help us out. Problem is he's a free agent this summer - I think.

O'Neal beasts once every 12 games and we're supposed to be excited lol I'll pass. He looks good in limited minutes, but so does Sheed.

Oneal has played very very well with minutes all year--much better than Shhed or Camby. He younger and like someone mentioned--hes lost considerable weight and looks bouncy--springy. The Suns have been smart unlike the Knicks with him by keep his minutes down. I doubt we get anything from Sheed or Camby---as is this team is not good enough--so Id rather take a shot and go after low salary players who might be available and help the team. Oneal Vince Carter etc... we need help!

The problem I have is that in his prior seasons, he's broken down and played ineffectively when given minutes. O'Neal can't be counted on and I'm hesitant to give up for a young player for him.

For one million $ hes the best available big we can get. Hes healthy and playing well. Were the team who has the injured guys. Im not talking a guy I want for 40 minutes. A guy who can either play next to Tyson or with amare for 20. Hes better than Wallace or Camby as is anyway hes a superior player.
