Martell would be perfect for us know--he only makes 1.6mm. J Kidd is not a 2G and if he goes down--we are left with Brewer and White. What I like about Martell is that--not only is he 6-7 235 and can likely shoot 45% from 3 on this team--but he rebounds and passes as well. He is made for this team as a two guard--size team player can stretch the floor doesnt turn it over much experienced yet only 26. He can move to 3 at times if Melo is 4. Im looking for one guy to put us over the top. I dont think J Kidd at 2G is that guy especially with his back.

Webster's problem is he is ALWAYS injured. I would only offer him the veterans minimum.

We need guys we can depend on. Not guys who usually wear suits on the bench.

I think he will get a fair market value contract.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

No mid level

only lower level $3mil

Yes that is what i'm referring to. It's possible Blair could be had for that given his year being bumped from the rotation. He would be a steal.

Next yrs plans:

Dump: White, Cope, Brew, Sheed, Camby (hope he retires) Kurt, Prigs and JR (most likely we will and SHOULD get the pay check that hes deserved ($8mil/yr)
-I love JR but hes too erratic.

Acquire:
1. Dante Cunningham LLE ($3mil/yr) = have him start at PF or SF and move Melo accordingly. Hes a young Kurt thomas (defense and mid jumper)
2. Randy Foye = too replace JR...plus he can play some PG in a pinch
3. Sam Dalembert = front court help

I'm not sure of how the money situation works out but I vote to get rid of at least 7 players. We have a good core but the depth is old or useless

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

James Johnson could be under the radar that would really help our DEFENSE
He is a UFA, whether it is a trade, or if the King's decide not to pick up his option which is very possible *he could be a vet minimum player/steal*

Cory Brewer could be another candidate as well as his 3point shot can go on hot/cold streak's

While I think it would be a big gamble to use the taxpayers MLE for these players, they could fall under that price tag and could be trade bait for a low price

dalembert has a 35 point game last nite...other than that hes been dormant.

good call RonRon - james johnson could be a steal with the mini vet

I'll take Clark assuming he can be had for $3mil...Lakers probably can match that if they want. Webster is a Bum

I don't understand why you guys are talking about 2 guard. I see JR Smith, Shumps and Kidd at that position.

I would be more worried about back up point guard and the 4/5 position.

I think the knicks can draft a junior or senior point guard at 25plus that can come in a be a plus at back up point guard right from the start.

I also believe Sims will be a guy we will bring in next year to be a big body on the bench.

Knicks need a good back up 4/5 guy that can start when Amare is down, Earl Clark would be pretty good. Anthony Tolliver would also be a good cheap pick up.

I don't see all the doom and gloom that is suppose to be coming if we lose the older players.

Kidd looks like he is shot right now forget about next year plus he should be a back up 1. Shumpert has a lot to prove.

Im talking about the 2G position because I dont believe JR will resign with the knicks. He will go for the $$$ and rightfully so. Fields got $8mil for being a scrub so I imagine he will get AT LEAST that.

I agree that we need a back up PG (AJ Price would be nice) and a young PF (Dante Cunningham, Webster or Tolliver) would be nice

Sims simply isnt a good player. I dont believe we have any 1st rd draft picks this yr.

We do have a 1st round pick and Sims would be a good end of the bench guy, he is playing very well in the DLeague. So I would hold off on writing Sims off before we see him in the summer League again.

Fields got his contract because the Raptors were trying to block our deal for Nash, it would be disingenuous to try and hold that deal as a water mark. A bunch of good players signed for around 5 million in this off season.

I believe JR will be back, there are only about 5 or 6 teams that will be under the cap to him a * million Dollar deal.

Maybe it is because he is shot but when Kidd had to fill in st the point when Felton was out he was really bad. I think he is more of s two guard at this point.

I'm not even sure if Kidd is the backup PG. I think thats Prigioni. Once Sheed returns Amare starts and Kidd only sees spot minutes off the bench and gets plenty of rest incase something was to happen to Felton or Prigs.

I know Woodson loves Kidd but he really is done as an everyday player

Kidd needs some shade and a vacay. He needs to recoup, continue to play 20 minutes. Then turn it on in the post season.
