he was one of my favorite players since he entered into the league.. most on realgm remember me pitching a fit when we didn't draft this guy... I always felt he would be a stud, but honestly, I think he is just a good person and teamate overall.. yes he has his flaws.. but when he was healthy and on top of his game, there were few that were as nasty as he was.... I want him to do well....he is easy to root for..

I seem to remember that. You and I think it was Briggs were PISSED that we passed on this guy. After watching him in Phoenix, so was I.

How about inserting Sheed or Camby into the starting line-up and keeping Stat in his current role. If Sheed comes back first, we would create a strong defensive unit with our starting five, and then create separation when our second unit hits the floor. Stat, JR, Novak, Prigs and Shump or Kidd, sounds like a recipe for success.

I was also thinking, do you really want Camby and Wallace being your punch off the bench??? Those look like complementary players to me the should be next to Melo/Amare at all times.

I think Amare will come off the bench all season.

Sheed won't last. Woodson said he is never going to be 100%

Start Amare and only use Sheed big minutes when needed against good teams or when the defense needs a jolt

Woodson also said Amar'e may no longer be a 30+ min. player so... It is what it is. We will see once Chandler back ups come back.

I like that idea. Sheed preferably but, Camby didn't look bad next to Tyson...not bad at all.

Sheed, like stat in the post will also draw double teams and/or fouls on the opposition which, is usually a good thing. Keep the pressure on their post defenders. Camby is also a good passer.

Coming off the bench keep his minutes down to help keep his knees fresh. We get to hide his D vs the likes of Dujan Blairs of the league instead of the Tim Duncans(Using the Spurs as an example). Amare playing off the bench is no longer about keeping him away from Melo because they can't play with each other, it is about balancing our team.

Absolutely on point.

my only problem with the way Amare is being handled (starter/non starter) is he needs more shots and should be featured scorer when he's on the floor, even if there are other MVP type players out there. If he stays healthy and is good for 30 minutes come playoff time Knicks can make a run.

I haven't read many posts where people are clamoring for him to start. 1 or 2 at the most. I still say he should get more touches. 10was his high mark which is too low if Melo is going to be shooting over 20shots a game. Melo can afford to give up 3or4 shots up, not asking for much.
