Because it means that you're first place of your entire conference 50 games into the season. Oh wait, maybe the goal is to be 12th place 50 games into the season ala having to climb uphill throughout the remainder of the regular season? Yea, right, that's it.

Actually, no, you're wrong. Being first place of an entire conference means that you're in first place with only 32 regular season games remaining. It means, that at the All-Star break, the #1 seed has a head start amongst all opposing teams moving forward ala an advantage moving forward,

Yea, right. As if you just "magically appear" with the number one seed and/or if our first 50 games of the regular season means nothing. Only thing that counts is after the regular season? Yea, right. Tell that to the likes of PHX, NOH, SAC, MIN, DAL, WAS, CHA, CLE, ORL, TOR, DET etc, etc. How many of these teams are still playing meaningful games?
Also, I will always and forever QUOTE you on "The only thing that counts is after the regular season and the seeding you get". So, the next time you make a negative remark after a Knicks loss and/or harp all over our Knicks due to a single loss, you know what I'll quote moving forward? "THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS IS AFTER THE REGULAR SEASON SO QUIT YOUR REGULAR SEASON COMPLAINING". lol.
Also, fans such as myself enjoy the journey to the postseason and/or potential championship. The Journey and the challenges that we've had to overcome as a team. Fans, such as yourself, don't understand that A.) You must win during the regular season in order to even B.) Have a chance come postseason play. Do teams such as PHX, NOH, SAC, MIN, DAL, HOU, POR, LAL, WAS, CHA, CLE, ORL, TOR, DET, BOS and/or PHI have a chance at the number one seed here in 2012-2013? The answer would be NO. And the reasoning behind the answer? Because they've failed heading into the All-Star break ala regular season.
SO WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT GUY?!? Or, are you just being negative for the sake of being negative?
In closing, if the goal is to end up with the number one seed during the regular season, wouldn't it be safe to say that owning the #1 seed 50 games into the regular season puts you in solid position to do just that during your remaining 32 games; Enter the playoffs with the number one seed. Or, would it be the goal to be the 5th-15th seed heading into the All-Star break?
Last but not least, you do know that the regular season ala playoff run started on November 2nd of 2012 against the Miami Heat, right? 45 games ago. We won that battle. It's now Feb 3rd of 2013. The chase/run/goal for the playoffs doesn't start on April 18th. You do know that, right? So your little "only thing that matters is after the regular season" sounds very clueless and makes zero sense.
Look how happy I made you! You have something to write about.
YOu started this thread not me. Im not saying its a bad thing but its totally intangible.
you took the last thing out of context, I meant the regular season is very important but its not over is it? The Seeding is very important and I would be thrilled to finish first. Note the Word "FINISH". Not, "we were no.1 with 32 games to go". What does that do? All star game meant something when you were kid right? or when every game was not on tv.
Im not being negative. But im not jumping up and down excited over this. When the season is over then we know the record and seeding.
Your a funny dude sometimes. Just ready to go off on anyone that is not all warm and knick fuzzy.
