http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=aqp6cfd<--- Correct link

How about this one? We give up Amare, who either recovers from his injuries and returns to form or turns into a massive expiring contract after next season, JR, and a bunch of cap filler. In return we take the bad contracts of Hedo, Jameer, Harrington, and Big Baby off their hands and get JJ also. Jameer moves Prigioni to the end of the bench, JJ takes over for JR's role only with a much better shot, Big Baby is our main big off the bench, and whatever we get from Harrington and Hedo is gravy. The only hiccup is it looks like JR has a no-trade clause because of the type of contract he signed this offseason.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

link doesn't show the trade, just the trade machine for espn

Maybe try realgm's trade app?

Outside of Al Harrington's contract, most are either good contracts or expiring's, while Amare's contract is by far the worse
Orlando already has a very high salary, so I don't think they would be looking to pay more taxes with the CBA though

Whoops, here's the right link http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=aqp6cfd

This trade actually saves Orlando $8M this year and at least $6M next year though I believe they pay slightly more in year 3. The only expiring contract they're giving up is JJ's, Hedo's runs through next season, and everyone else's goes another season after that. Also, Hedo and Jameer do not have reasonable contracts; Hedo's due $12M/year this year and next and Jameer is due $8M/year through 2014-15.

EDIT: I'd also throw in a future first and a second rounder to make it more palatable to Orlando.

gunsnewing wrote:I don't get why Woodson didn't sit Kidd the past 2 games. He could've rested for nearly a week and played today. Mind boggling

During the summer, I wanted Carlos Delfino for the tax payer MLE and NOT Kidd
Kidd is a leader but not a PG while Delfino is a good shooter that can be streaky, but can play SG/SF, with a decent all round game
I guess he is here more as an extra coach on the floor and help some of our *lower IQ* player's correct their games/decision making
I feared that Woodson saw him as a PG, as he clearly no longer can play the position effectively
Had STAT not get injured before the season, I wonder if Kidd would be the backup to Felton instead of starting

Our recent struggles/bad streak
-----------------------------------
Outside of our other injuries and players coming back/getting in shape

Kidd's injuries/age/playing the PG instead of playing SG, is a huge part of why the Knick's have been struggling
We loss a sniper, basically a Novak *with more skills/better DEF* in the starting lineup, that can handle the ball, and take some pressure off Felton/Melo and the TEAM
The extra work that he has to do while playing PG at his age hurt's his legs/stamina and makes him ineffective as a shooter
I agree we should just give him some time off to recover from the extra work he has put in with our injuries along with Brewer to heal up and get in shape

Kidd can play PG under certain matchup's, but he can be the 2nd/3rd ball handler, while there must be other player's that have the ability to penetrate on the floor with him
*in very low minutes's and certain matchup's he can play PG, since his lack of speed/quickness on DEF and inability to penetrate on OFFENSE*

Having a player like Delfino would really spread the floor and bring's so much more than Novak
As for Novak, I think it was a mistake to resign a player with his weakness's
There are plenty of veteran minimum players that bring much more than Novak

Delfino was off to a bad start in the start of the season but he has warmed up since and make's many teams regret not going after a shooter like him as he was a FA for a long time
I think Laker's made a huge mistake by not resigning Sessions and opting not to use their full tax payer's MLE for Delfino, instead getting cheap to get Jodie Meek's
Why have the largest payroll of the league and try to save a couple of million, risking not making the play offs?

As good as Kidd's start of the season was, he will only get older and physically less effective within the life of his 3 year contract

1) How many here would rather have Delfino instead?

2) NOT resigning Novak and looking for a cheaper option at veteran's min

3) If Knick's were to match the 5/5/10/10 contract for Lin, instead of 5/5/15, the difference in Novak's salary would be the difference, and we keep a young player/ overpaying him for potential. Not to mention, the option of NOT trading for Camby, keeping 2 2nd round pick's as assets for future trades, and signing a veteran minimum backup PF/C instead

Also, if we did not trade for Camby and his salary, if we were able to trade TD *for salary dump or part of trade for Felton*, not resign Novak, and match Lin's contract *since only 5m 1st year*, we would have actually have the full MLE to sign 2 players or attract some other players with 5m MLE, the trade for Felton has to happen *after we acquire the the 5m MLE player first*

As for shooter's, some players that can shoot the ball that are about the same salary as Novak but are much better defenders and bring another skill set
Besides Delfino/Dunleavey they cost a bit more, but also bring so much more to the table

Kyle Korver
Carlos Delfino
Mike Dunleavey
Danny Green

Mike Miller
James Jones

2 undersized G/F's that can shoot but very weak on DEF that are about 2m which is less than Novak

Randy Foye *PG/SG/SF*
Bellinli

PG/SG
------------
Nate Robinson
Etwan Moore

Veteran Min's at Forward position
----------------------------------------

Martell Webster G/F

Alan Anderson *Toronto* G/F

both are somewhat comparable to Novak's game, as they are both great shooters but bring NOTHING ELSE, and are horrible defenders

Peja know he retired after he won his ring with Dallas but he was once of the best shooters of the league with great size and decent all round game
Redd *probably closer to SF with his age/injuries*
Kapono once lead the league in 3point shooting and was also one of the best pure shooters in the league

D-League pickups that are signed to multiple 10 day contracts to the T-Wolves, that we should keep an eye one
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mickael Gelabale Euro player that can shoot the ball very well, handle the ball a bit, and is so much quicker/faster on both ends of the floor

Chris Johnson *extremely long and athletic, think he would be playing Brewer's role with much more efficiency*
Would be a huge upgrade over Brewer and he is a good shot blocker, runs the floor well for fast break's, basically a poor man's AK47/Batumm *with his shot*

Put it this way: When your team is desperately awaiting the return of Raymond Felton, you know you have a weak back-court

quite the negative spine. I see it this way: when Raymond Felton is the only guard we have capable of breaking down the defenses, getting to the rim and getting guys wide open shots, its no wonder the team suffered without him. Its no wonder that Woody had to go iso Melo and that Novak suffered.

Felton & Melo co Knicks MVP's.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

We have a weak back-court.
On an $80 mil veteran team, why is Raymond Felton the only guy who can do that?
