I sure as hell would.. i would make that move, try to get some kind of pick in the deal and run with the team we have.....

I would keep chandler, and get another big body to reduce his minutes... just imagine rondo playing with a big like chandler and amare who can finish around the rim at a high percentage rate.. and novak will actually get open looks from pushing the ball...

HELL NO why trade for an injured PG when we have an opportunity to win a ring or at least go to the ECF for once this decade
That is absurd, TFK, if you are talking about an injured player unless it is Durant/Lebron/Westbrook/Harden/ there is not 1 single player that you can trade Melo for

Even for Kevin Love and Derrick Rose, it would hard to decide, especially for Rose and how he recovers
Kevin Love however, would be a gamble itself but I can at least see an actual decision

But for Rhondo when he is out for the entire season at least, it makes NO SENSE, not with Melo at least

"Added D'Antoni on Friday: "I mean, come on. He just threw Frank Johnson, myself, Alvin Gentry and actually Mike Woodson [under the bus]. Was [Woodson] saving the good stuff? Because he coached him eight months and he was the defensive coach. So it was like, 'You know, I won't tell him that, I'll save that until I really coach him.' It doesn't make any sense."

So much for trying to give MDA any credit for last years defense. According to MDA, Woodson was the defensive coach last year. So, Woodsons defense was better last year.....

Dont solely tout the record, easy come easy go.
We dont want any part of easy go.

.500 record at end of season for nba east entry into playoffs do not excite DJ

Knicks have a homestand & road gm against few teams to do some win streak now, .
Lets see what record is in 1 wk or so then before we start to ignore a FACT this team ain't
Playing nba defense anymore in January or what's needed to get better.

Worst case can happen for our loved Nyk is to lose div. To Brooklyn Nets & have to be seeded
Elsewhere for nba playoffs. That is my whole point its called 'Playing the game da right way! '

Starts & ends with D always an identity staplemark of successful Ny knick teams.

We aint beating teams in playoffs by trying to outscore them which some of Knick philosophy
Seem prevalent & few seem quite happy with that manner to win few games.

Plus, we only have this good of a record BECAUSE of our early season D. We haven't gained much ground since December. We've been hovering at 12 games over .500 since then.

Since starting the season 6-0 we're only 21-15

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

thats not the real picture. The real picture is we started with great defense and began the year 18-5. Since then we are 9-10. Knicks have been .500 for 20 games now. Thats a legit sampling.

Rondo would be out most likely not only this year but much of next year.

I look past what is going on now..I am just hoping for a trip to the ECF.. that is a moral victory man... this is not some young team that will build off of that.. this team is old, aging with a small window.. so what if we get to the ECF... then what? what happens next year... we are not improving from within.... and we have very little to improve outside of that... I am talking about potentially grabbing a guy who may be one of the league's top 5 to 7 players (legitimately) in a year or two...

So you'd rather take your chance on a player who just got injured and wont be back for well over a year?

I can think of any logic reason to think like this.

You dont even know if he would recover.

ECF is a moral victory? Rondo isn't a top 5-7 player now, and that was pre-injury, no one will know what he would be.

But I'd betcha if you offered Melo for Rondo...Boston does that deal immediately....they still wanna compete, and you would be helping whup your own teams butt.

Shump doesn't rely on athleticism alot, that's Rondo greatest strength...he's almost one of the fastest players in the nba.

I think playing both novak and stat hurts us defensively. I like Novak but he is pretty much a waste this year. Also Melo needs to get teh defensive intensity back that he had in november

Melo played hard at the beginning of the season so he would stop getting flack about Lin and MDA.Now he's gone back to being the Melo we traded a whole roster for. I agree with tfk, the window for winning multiple championships has been narrowed down to winning this year or never. And for the record, Rondo is one of the scariest if not, the scariest pg in the league right now. He's a beast!
