Noah and Chandler spring to mind.
Neither contribute as many PPG, but they're not relied on to score and do other things better than him.

I do agree that he should've made it though.

Overall, these are really good selections. The East is fine as it is and I only have one quibble in the West. I don't believe Lee should've made the team over Marc Gasol, if the coaches wanted a representative from the Warriors they should've picked Curry.


It was either Lee or Curry, and to be honest it's easier to snub Gasol than it would be to snub any one of Harden, Westbrook or Parker. That would be my guess as to why it's like that.

Good call on Noah, he's dropping 4 dimes per game with 2.1 swats, blows Lopez AND Tyson out of the water just because of the dimes.

Felton is averaging 6.3 dimes per game, so that's nuts that Noah has 4

Curry will have his opportunity. It came down to him or Aldridge. Aldridge is a beast and deserving. Lee makes it over Gasol cos GS has a better record than Memphis and GS hasn't had an allstar since Spree

Tyson, Noah, Duncan, Marc Gasol, and Dwight, even in a down year, are all better than Lopez. The only reason that list isn't longer is because Bynum, Bogut, and Nene have all been hurt this year. Brook Lopez is the most overrated player in the NBA.

I don't know about that. He's killed us all year. The blocks on Amare and Melo were HUGE

Glad that Holiday made it, he's one of my favorite PGs in the game. Happy that more casual fans of the NBA will be exposed to he and Uncle Drew during AS weekend. Steph Curry being left off sucks, but not sure who you boot off that team to include him. Ditto Gasol & Crawford. West is stacked.

Bropez should have definitely made it over Chris Bosh. His numbers are very comparable and he's blocking 2 shots a game this year. Plus the Heat already had Bron and Wade, they didn't need Bosh in there, too. The Nets should have a representative. Josh Smith probably should have made it, but he's had some team issues lately so that may have influenced the voting.

Either the coaches went against the Nyets for players getting a fellow coach fired or Lopez didn't make it cos he missed 10 games. Could've thrown the Nyets a bone though. Lopez was deserving

Who makes the allstar team now with Rondo out?

Brook Lopez, Deron or Josh Smith?

I guess Deron since Jrue Holiday is the only other PG

Deron is not deserving

My first thought was that he'd be replaced with a guard, preferably a point guard, but the guard-play in the East has been pretty piss poor this season and I can't think of anyone who really deserves to be there. So, I'm guessing Stern picks Brook Lopez since he plays for a somewhat marquis team and he seemed to be the guy that most people talked about as being overlooked in the East.

even though it is time josh smith gets on the team, he wont unless there is another injury. deron doesnt technically deserve it but what other point guards deserve it in the east ahead of him? nj needs a rep after being in 3rd in the conference. lopez will be shut out again imo.

JR Smith has been too inconsistent since his injury, if not I think he should be well deserved and at least considered
Had he continued his play, it would have been a snub, but he has struggled with the Knick's as well

I would have to guess a G would sub in from the Nets because of their record, then Bucks
Most likely with Deron/Joe Johnson and Monta/Jennings before JR Smith at this point, especially with their runs with their new coaches

Brook Lopez/Josh Smith/Al Horford are should be considered however unlikely because of their positions, the next candidates would include


Jameer Nelson
Kemba Walker
Evan Turner
Jeff Teague *least deserving but has the best record after the Nets*


There doesn't seem to be a clear measurement of how players are selected, but usually teams with players that have more W's get selected first
Unless you are a TOP player in your position in the league, the team record seems to make a big difference

I hope Pierce doesn't get voted in, he just isn't having that "ALL STAR" year and he is a Forward not SG at this point
