Heh heh... point taken. I guess a Dutch colonial dribbling a basketball isn't exactly thug either.

I'm sure many of you know that it comes from an actual Dutch surname Washington Irving used in a story, and became a term referring to New Amsterdam's Dutch settlers and their short pants. But do you know what the name translates to?

In modern Dutch it would be spelled "knikkerbakker" and it means "marble baker". You know, like the children's game of marbles: the dude who made them (marbles used to be made out of clay, apparently.)

Or to translate "knikkerbakker" into a UK-appropriate pictogram:

I actually really like their logo/look. Congrats to New Orleans. They now have their own identity. Great city with great people. I live in Florida but nothing is like the southern food from the N.O. Would love to see Charlotte go back to the Hornets and scrap the Bobcats. Loved watching Muggsy Bogues growing up throughout the 90's. Alonzo and LJ? That team really did have a great future if not for players leaving. Dell Curry could also shoot the rock lights out.

Love the name. Lots of Pelicans right on the Mississippi, right by where the Ferry crosses to Tan
giers from the French Quarter. Cool looking birds.

HA! Who knew Pelicans were so GANGSTER? They're not afraid of anything. I always laughed at them for looking so strange and having that huge sack under their Top Bills, but man those things are nuts. When Pelicans ATTACK!

Still hate the name.

Never in a million years would I have guessed that Pelican's attack and kill like that. They seem fearless of anything moving. Seems like they won't back down, not even a foot from a dog or even human. Thankfully I seen this video, because I have a new found respect for these types of birds. Never in a million years will I attempt to get close let alone feed/mess with one of these things aha.

But the question you need to really ask is as our fearless leader, is Melo afraid to stick his hand out to a Pelican?

After that clip I want to see a movie about Zombie man eating pelicans!
