Amar'e was very iffy today. Yes he had some conversions on Humphries backing him down with hooks and dump offs from Melo for slams but he was brutal defensively and on the boards. He also stepped out of bounds trying to drive and turned it over another time with not having his hands ready.

He's not ready to start...

Altering shots isn't though. And you know the Knicks aren't a team that does that in the paint enough.

I think a lose like this will kick the debate into high gear though. Kmart should be worked out at this point either way.

I completely disagree. Ease him back in. I was scared when I saw Amar'e, Melo, and Chandler on the floor at the same time but give Woodson credit for trying to get the three LIMITED minutes together. They obviously need to learn to play together but if you stat jockeys would pay attention that trio was completely pedestrian when on the floor together last season

I agree the three of them have to play on the court at the same time eventually but I also think that they need time to practice together. You know and I know Bermanbury will write an article about how ****ty the three of them were on the court together last year after the very first game the three of them play extended minutes together.

Personally, I like that Woodson is working Amar'e back into the rotation slowly. I also like that Woodson is taking a look at Copeland and that won't happen once Amar'e starts playing 30 minutes a night, which he will if he starts. I don't know how the hell Woodson keeps Amare's minutes down to what the doctors are requesting if Amar'e starts. I'd also rather have him in the fourth than first

Why the wholesale panic???..We are not fully up to speed yet..Amare is still slated to play limited minutes..Shump even less ..We are second in the East..This isn't a sprint, it's a marathon ...Felton is back in a week..Amare doesn't have his legs yet..Shump is still in preseason ..We payed a good Net team down to the wire with major pieces not fully engaged..We have time to get healthy and position ourselves ..

Guns, I like how Melo & STAT were communicating and playing together today so I see why you would suggest this. I'm crossing my fingers because STAT is starting to look good over these past two games. I think it's important bring him back slowly though, the last thing we need is another set-back with him and for the past 2 seasons it's been one thing after another.

They key to getting Stat back to beastmode will be getting Felton healthy. In the meantime, for Amare to be effective off the bench he needs to practice with Priggs more because JR isn't adept to running the P'n'R...at least not yet. Building chemistry is everything right now to get STAT and Shump caught up with the team. So I guess my stance is to wait until Felton's back and he gets a few games & practices under his belt and then revisit the issue.

But contesting shots aren't. And usually when someone post's a solid/strong blocks average? They're doing a really good job contesting shots on a consistent basis. Key word being 'usually'. Scoring is overrated too, but it's how you score. Same goes for blocks.

The only reason why Melo and Amare looked good together is because Stat had space to operate, meaning Tyson wasn't on the floor.

Starting Amare doesn't prevent the Nets from scoring 26 points in the first quarter, that's where the problems began, constantly losing the opening quarter.

And the Knicks lost 3 out of 4 quarters on top of that.

Our biggest problem isn't Amar'e starting or coming off the bench. Our biggest problem is being forced to go with Iso Melo due to lack of point guard. I will start really worrying if we are still struggling after Felton comes back.

I would definitely waive either Brewer or White to sign K-Mart. Next year we need a young capable PG to back up Felton. Kidd handling the point is ruining his game.

The amount of putback and ORebs that lead to scores is a huge problem. take away one of those and we could have won the game. Chandler is at fault for this also, at least one time he stood there while lopez ran in and stole the reb for a putback. I would cut brewer to sign KMart. Brewer is wasted space on this team. He might have played limited minutes in yesterdays game but those minutes still hurt us. Once he is on the court teams double off him.

K-Mart is not needed. Amar'e will continue to improve and get more minutes and provide some decent rebounding and blocks and scoring.

And .... Amare will grow 4 more inches so that he can actually accomplish the aforementioned tasks.
