Homerite Fablelickers, like charter member me, who still seem to believe that Starphucquing happens to be the only way to win a chip these days, and, despite their cool euro flair, home grown tats, and Russky height, was not all that thrilled with the Gallo yoot contingent. Or watching Stat get ground into the ground playing the 4 AND 5 every night.
It's funny how the Somberite Melohating contingent can wax poetic and get glassy-eyed talking up yoots who accomplished next to nothing or some funky black and white retro third-class never won a chip retro city wannabe franchise because it's being run by a billionaire Russian and a hip hopster, but have all flavors of disdain and intellectual self-restraint to heap upon those who get glassy eyed and wax poetic about the only true star this franchise has had in over a decade.
Comparing the current Melo love to past Starburbling is a clear fail at even grasping straws.
And don't even get me started on what most of these same Somberanians do fawning at the Great Golden Lin.
Despite the lame movie connection explanation, mooby is obviously shorthand for man booby.
The initial Starphuch that was given to Starburys journey home was similar at first.
I absolutly get the fact that no chips are one without a star player who can rise to the occasion, put the team on his back and achieve the ultimate goal. Melo has yet to do it here or in Denver. I never said he could not. Its just silly to annoint him the savior until he has saved.
Regarding His NCAA run, no doubt he was a star player. Its not about what Mcnemara has done after. I hope Syracuse is not retireing melo's number (for PLaya) based on his pro career! Mcnemara was was a 4 years starter, never missed a game, was instrumental in their title run and finished as the 4 leading scorer in schools history and has that Chip to his cred!
You think Seattle or Orlando is going to retire Ewings number based on his knick career?
As far as the trade, its a good one if your Dolan and want a star player. I thought there might have been other deals to make with the assets. I never said we'd win a chip with that roster planted in cement and never to have changed. IT was a good team. I never said to never trade any of them. Nobody knew amnisty of billups for room to sign Tyson was ever in the mix. I never complained about the trade once we got Tyson. IN fact, it made the deal complete. I was wrong.
Sometimes Starphuchs work out. Most of ours have not. Dice, Marbury, Larry, MDA, and Isiah all have not. I think the world of Amare but this one is still up in the air.
Been here 8 years and I am consistant: Don't like Starphuching and the influence has on Dolan who makes decisons based on short term results. If fans fall for it, then we'll never win a championship.
Nalod laughs with others when MVP chants rain down in the first 20 games. I hated "Coming home". It reeked of the Lebron-Wade-Bosh pep rally but not nearly as bad.
Amare is my favorite KNick and hope he comes back. Melo has impressed me with his growth on the court.
Im not calling Melo "mooby" to disrespect him but to the starphuchers, its the golden calf thing.
If you don't dig this thread, ignore it. Lord knows I do it on subjects all the time.
If your compelled to discuss, lets do it. If you want to call me names thats fine but have a take, have a stand and just don't react to others and complain. Otherwise just do what most fans do is just watch the games and enjoy them.
