Do we really need his shooting or, if we can trade can trade him for a veteran rebounder, NOT AN OLD GUY AT THE END OF HIS CAREER, someone like a Gortat, probably can't get a Gortat for him but you get the idea, someone that will play filthy for you

Yea, I would trade Novak for a veteran tough guy
No Novak's three shooting is too important to team

I agree with this. The team signed him to do almost nothing else but shoot 3s. When he checks into the game, there should at least be some focus on getting him open for them.

Yes. Exactly. I like Novak. His struggles aren't really his. Coach needs to find a way to get him shots. Missing Felton is huge.

I'd rather cut Brewer or White and sign Kmart.

Id keep Novak and cut brewer and get Kmart. We need toughness up front and thats Kmart. Novak will be ok once felton comes back. Novak has to use that ball fake more often to get open shots. Woody hasta realize that Novak isnt just a 3 pt shooter.

Doesnt white make more money? I would cut Brewer. Kurt still has value. Yes we miss Felton but we've been one of the worst defensive teams well before Feltons injury

I would like to stop playing brewer all together....white us a better overall player.

Dropping brewer and signing kmart probably would be the best thing.

For some reason, I though of this guy when I first saw the thread title:

I say no to a trade if we can grab Kenyon Martin off the scrap heap. I thought Kurt Thomas would fill that role, but it looks like he's lost that eye of the tiger.

I thought about getting rid of Novak, but the anticapation that swells up every time he gets a clear look at the basket is amazing. It moves you the edge of your seat, and can even be heard in the crowd as we wait for the dagger to strike. Let's face it; the 3 point shot has become a weapon in the League, and we have one of the best in Novak. Now if we could only figure out how to get this dang thing to work!

We always seem to go on a run when Novak is in the game, whether he's doing anything or not. Not sure how or why, but the teams seems to play better with him on the court.

he is only good to us when we are up. when we are down, he doesn't help much. he's not mentally tough to handle adversity. you will notice that his overall play is better when the knicks are already up by 10 or so when he checks into the game, versus down 10.

I have to back the truck up here, beep beep,

Novak single-handedly kept us in games all season long last year, when we were down big we asked him to come in and drop the long range bombs, time after time, t

go check the stats THIS YEAR. novak's mojo is best at keeping leads, not coming back from 10 to 15 points down or more.

If the Knicks could get Evans absolutly. However they can't so it would depend on the guy they were getting back

One player i hope to acquire as a free agent next yr is an underated PF whos only 25yrs old...plays solid def...rebounds and can hit the 15footer.

DANTE CUNNINGHAM

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Actually, the thing we need is a smart small forward who can defend and keep defenses honest. A guy like Battier, Horry, Matt Barnes. That guy is a starter on this team. I wonder if guys like Tay Prince, Wes Matthews, Jared Dudley are available from the 3 spot. These guys are perfect fits here.

Barring that, if Woody can keep him engaged defensively, I think Chris Copeland can be a passable option at the 3 with Carmelo at the 4.

Kidd
Shump
Copeland
Melo
Tyson

Smith, Amare, Novak, Pablo

Seems like a well balanced rotation. Pablo gets pushed out when Felton retakes his starting spot. Guys like Wallace and Camby can then be highly regulated time wise.

Exactly! Run more plays for Novak. He is too good a shooter to not.

Outside of that, even though Novak isn't lighting it up like last year, still great though, he is creating space for Melo.

The reason why I vote for d. cunningham is because hes a rugged & willing defender who's young and has some offense. Unlike most people, i actually DONT think melo is the answer at 4. It simply hides his weakness as a defender. plus hes a poor rebounder. He thrives at the 4 simply cuz hes a mismatch on offense. But hes a mismatch on offense to any one guarding him though

Cope CANT play D well
