KG showed that this game is largely mental, and it is very easy to get under Melo's thin skin

Woodson should start with cutting back on the whining himself. In a lot of the previous game where we lost our poise, Woodson was picking up techs along with our players. If he remains calm himself, it'd probably be easier to get the players to follow.

This. Memphis, Houston, Chicago and now Boston. Definite trend

Yes, Melo's 29ppg thin skin. Big problem to solve.

yup... you just saw last year's playoffs repeat themselves. Im sure this year will be different though. After Boston beats us in the 2-7 matchup you can blame Woody's bad offense, Amare's lack of rebounding and Chandler's lack of a post game for another Melo first round exit. More of the same. Now we need a Melo protector. Good stuff.

yep that is exactly what I was thinking last night and my biggest concern. Game was a lot like the recent playoff games vs the Celtics and Heat. They punch the Knicks in the mouth, they get frustrated Melo losses cool and tries to take the game over with the wrong frame of mind. But keep those MVP chants comin!

Thats what I was wondering too. If anyone lost their cool last season, it was Amare. As for the year before that (against the Celtics), Melo was kinda the only one capable of doing anything on offense with Amare and Billups out so him shooting wasnt a matter of him getting mad.

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Melo didn't lose his cool but the Knicks got away from what got them to 18-6 under Woodson. Knicks can win 55 games this year, if they lose their composure they can get bounced in the 1st round again if they get away from the things that made them successful all year

Melo losing his cool had NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS LOSS. Do guys even bother to watch games they are posting about. Dude was playing like crap, showing NO intensity way before KG went into Bitch mode.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

chicago, memphis, and boston are all playoff-tested hard-nosed teams. the playoffs are why jordan said that the game of basketball is 90% mental. the playoff-intense atmosphere last night is a good measuring stick or litmus test of where the team is at mentally.

if melo is going to get harassed his best counter is to draw a ton of fouls. if his game lacks craftiness and guile is it any wonder why his poise is being questioned?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

You know, I agree that the Knicks not keeping their cool is a concerning trend, but let's not forget that we had 2 straight home wins against the C's before last night. Opening day Christmas last year, where KG almost choked out one of our guys (I forget who) and the blowout where Melo had a triple double and JR was hitting shots from the Lincoln Tunnel. In the Christmas game, KG showed he's a victim of emotions also. And he didn't get suspended for grabbing someone by the neck.

We have to learn from this game. Woody and the vets need to take charge at times like that.

Billy Walker, I believe. I remember that. He should have been suspended for that.

But, hey, KG is the puppeteer/master manipulator and Melo's a thin-skinned bad leader with no poise.

OR...KG is a run of the mill douchebag who said something particularly nasty (& personal?) to Melo, and Melo, who was having a bad shooting night, wanted to have a conversation about it after the game. As men.

I have more of an issue with how the Knicks as a team will respond to teams that use physical play to beat us and what strategies they'll use in the future to offset that.

Naw, Melo just went to war with the back liners. The front liners to these type of personal games must include Felton and Shumpert and Sheed and that's when Camby would eventually join in too.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Like I said Reggie Miller got under Starks skin and you praise Starks. KG gets under Melo's skin and you call him thin skinned, the haters keep hating.
