Its a mystery. I appreciate him willing to put his body on the line, but it seems like an unnecessary risk at this point.

Is it really a risk or has Amare come to the realization that his knee will never be pain free and 100% again?

Decent enough read but I feel like we've gone over this about 1,000,000 on the forum, nothing new in this post, nothing clever or insightful

Let's just see Amar'e on the court and take it from there,

I don't understand how he is only 80%, I would think he was 80% like a month ago, how can you be 80% only days away from your supposed return?

Something smells like fish here all the way up to high heaven,

I don't trust a word out of MSG

I had an LCL injury about 4 years ago and my knee still hurts but I play ball and continue to practice martial arts with no restrictions. Some injuries heal with and without lingering pain. Amare will have to work through that pain.

Wow. How many consecutive nights did you spend sprinting 60 feet on a wooden floor, contorting your body in the air, absorbing contact from guys who weigh 225-260 pounds or landing on one leg from an altitude of more than three in the air?

Just curious.

It's what Amare said, I don't see the problem.

lol... misterearl reminding us all that our sports injuries and experience are nothing compared to what NBA players deal with. Usually they are worse.

I'd say it's because up until now Amar'e was planning to take things slowly so he could come back when he was in the same kind of shape he was in in the offseason. This was really an option when we were winning and looking like a great team. Unfortunately with the recent losses, there's more of a sense of urgency, and with all the injuries and guys playing hurt it made Amar'es position of holding back until 100% a bit less justifiable- if Brewers playing with a hurt knee, Melo with a few ailments, Felton with bone bruised hands, Sheed and Camby with foot issues etc etc, then is it really fair Amar'e gets to sit out? (not saying I agree, but I'm guessing that's the thinking)

Consider the mystery solved!
