Overuse.

Rose tore his on a hop step.

Shump will always have knee issues, hopefully they don't limit him too much.

Rose is crazy explosive and has been in the league 4 yrs.

Shumpert with lateral quickness or explosiveness is not the same player.

What's your point? Rose is more likely not to be the same.

there is no way that you will see the Shumpert that you saw last year. Basketball is a different sport than football. Next year is when you will see Shumpert close to 100%.

Im concerned about his ability to not breakdown.

Its like Griffin when he broke his knee cap jumping his rookie year. Not a good look when a rookie gets severely injured.

Arguably the best wing defender in the NBA is Tony Allen... who blew out his knee a number of years back while with the Celtics. ACL tear, damaged cartilage.

He was my "worst" case scenario for Shumpert. I think Shumpert has Michael Finley-like offensive potential, though as long as he's always linked to a dominant scorer like Carmelo, mirroring Allen's career wouldn't be a bad thing for a late first rounder.

Adrian Peterson is a beast and a miracle, we can be hopeful that with Iman's work ethic, he can recover at the same pace, but NO ONE should EXPECT it to happen

Generally, it is a 1-2 year recovery for both MENTALLY and PHYSICALLY *in game shape and making up the time he could have improved on*, with such major surgery/injury, and we all wish Iman the best

Look at the drastic improvements of Kemba Walker from last year to his quick start this year, IF Iman never got hurt, his improvements from his rookie year could be comparable to Kemba, bringing him closer to the likes of Sprewell, Westbrook, and Derrick Rose

Will be interesting to see how Hopla will help develop Shump's shot, he already has a good form

These was prior to the start of his rookie season, to show his work ethic
I hope Iman could set up a early training camp during the summer to work with DRILLS for footwork, coordination, athleticism, for all of the Knick's roster
For example, I think Amare, Jason Kidd, Pablo, Copeland, Camby, even Melo/JR Smith, and EVERYONE can benefit from such drills and dedication to the game

Lets see Jason Kidd help develop Iman's game that would help him be closer to a PG/SG and tone his skills
If he can get back to his former shape, I think Iman would be at his best at HARASSING our opponents PG's
While rather having someone like Kidd or Felton defending the bigger but slower SG's with their toughness

I am not saying Kidd will make Iman in to a PG, but there is a good possibility that he will at the very least, help the development and steer Iman in the right direction in to a better PG/SG
If Iman is able to develop Iman in to a PG, they both would have the advantage with their size/strength, that Kidd had throughout his entire NBA career
At the very least, his guard skills will be enhanced, with his work ethic, and willingness to learn

1) Improve his PG skills in passing and facilitating, especially using his physical abilities to create for others as well as himself

2) Shot selection

3) Leadership

4) How and when to control the tempo of the game, when to use his physical abilities *especially on the fast break, Jason Kidd's specialty after a rebound*

-----A) like Felton, Iman ALWAYS plays at 110% of heart, always tries to go from 0-60 speed of the game. Learning how and when to use his physical abilities

5) how to read, attack, and break down opponents DEFENSES

Nice breakdown Ron. Kidd will do miracles for Shump's development, both in the physical and mental game.

I honestly wish Tony Allen is Shumpert's "beat case" to be honest.

Check out the size of that scar on Adrian Peterson!

Peterson's unwavering prediction that he'd play for the Vikings in their season opener after the injury last Christmas Eve proved to be an honest belief, not a competition-driven delusion.
There were psychological barriers, too, but Peterson's combination of confidence in his own healing power and reliance on his Christian faith helped him overcome those.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I'm not worried about Young Shump; torn knees aren't the death knell they used to be, plus with his age, his determination, this is no problem.

This is the first time, you had anything nice to say about my posts EVER or novels!

It is almost like hitting the Lotto

Great way to end 2012 and start a new year!
Hopefully, our difference in opinions on our Knicks be irrelevant as we catch a healthy roster for once, and with some luck, for once, have the dice roll our way as we compete for a ring this year and continue to build a Dynasty for the years to come.
