Amar'e was looking like he was getting his athleticism back once he lost the weight, unfortunately he got derailed again by his back playing up. Who knows where he's at now- I'm not going to jump to assumptions he's done forever more.
With Amar'e it was a bulging disc, and he was out for months over the offseason, started moving better in Feb/March, which would make it almost 11 months. However that was without proper rehab due to the lock out. Dwight had a herniated disc (more severe), AND broken bone fragments removed via surgery. It's amazing he was ready to go so quickly- not sure if it was a good idea to rush him, though. I expect him to look sluggish all season, we won't find out til next season whther he's going to get his explosiveness back- fortunately for him he'll get to sign a max contract first.
