Nowadays you watch this team and it's obvious we need a boost. Can't wait for Amar'e to get back.

Amare is a 6'10 player with polished post moves.

Polished post moves? Since when?

A. Ever since Tyson Chandler's post moves resembled the grace of Fred Flintstone's bowling moves.

M.E.,

I know he worked with Hakeem but until we see what he brings to an actual game, there is no proof that he is much better at this than Tyson.

Actual or Factorial?

MKS - not worried in the least about Amar'e being better than Tyson Chandler. A frontcourt upgrade is desperately needed to reduce Tyson's minutes and add to his endurance for the marathon season.

One more thing. Play Cope.

yeah - I want to see what Cope can bring

I just want Amare to have his jumper going. If it is on and consistent (again), we are in good shape. If its not, eeeeeeeeeeeeeesh.

Based his career he is better than Tyson in the post. Jerome Jordan was better than Tyson is in the post. lol

IMO, In my prayers, Amar'e comes back and not only gives a scoring, low post option, but also with some renewed sense of rebounding and defensive presence that this team so desperately needs.

Let me just say this... The return of Amare is not "a problem". It is a necessity.
I'll go on record to say that this team will NOT make it out of the second round of the playoffs if Amare does not come back. We will not beat Miami or Chicago in a seven game series without our second scorer. Period.

In February, the Knicks wanted to send Stoudemire to Toronto in a deal for Andrea Bargnani, a person briefed on the discussion said. But the proposal was vetoed by James L. Dolan, the Garden chairman, before it ever reached the Raptors (who would not have made the deal anyway, team officials there said).

Wow a move that I like from James Dolan.

Why are some fans ready to dump on Stoudemire, a player that brought life to NY when no one else would (granted he got paid too, but still). Let Stoudemire have his chance, let Woodson try to make it work. Why are people ready to dump on Stoudemire? Where is the loyalty?

The first step to becoming a first class organization isn't winning, it is doing the right thing. Everything else should follow.

Rose is not the answer.

The Best Part Is The Last Paragraoh

As long as injuries don't necessitate otherwise, New York Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemirewill come off the bench when he returns to the team, league sources with knowledge of the Knicks' thinking said.

The Knicks hope Stoudemire will return to the lineup Tuesday at home against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The team would like Stoudemire to come off the bench initially, though sources cautioned there is a possibility he will have to return as a starter because of injuries. Carmelo Anthony was to miss his second consecutive game Friday night against the Sacramento Kings with a left knee ailment, and Raymond Felton is out four to six weeks with a fractured right pinky finger.

"It's a fluid situation (because of injuries)," one source said. "But they want him to come off the bench to start."

It's common for players who return from a lengthy absence to come off the bench initially to regain their timing. But according to sources, Knicks coach Mike Woodson is seriously considering playing Stoudemire in a reserve role for the rest of the season.

Woodson is hoping to avoid disrupting the chemistry the Knicks have established during their surprising 20-8 start. The coach and his staff also want to see how Stoudemire adjusts initially, sources say. - Ian Begley, ESPN

The Best Part

Woodson has not commented publicly on Stoudemire's role since the power forward underwent a left knee debridement on Oct. 31.

Why can't these "sources" simply allow Mike Woodson to coach his team?

Controversy and manufactured chaos.

Read All About It

StarksEwing1 - can't you smell the aroma of a quarterback controversy?

Carmelo's wounded knee provides the backdrop for Amare's return. They play the same position. Mike Woodson is the reason it will never work. Amare will have multiple microphones in his face at every opportunity.

Someone is bound to be unhappy. The juicy headlines are ready. The objective is to sell newspapers.

I've got 99 problems with Ray Felton, but his pick and roll with Amar'e ain't one.

(tranlation services courtesy of latest iTunes app)

"When you go through something like that, I don’t know if you could ever get back to 100 percent. But just having him back in uniform and on the floor ready to play is a plus when that time comes."

- Mike Woodson

Translation: "Amar'e is still hurting, and will quite possibly never be pain free. Company policy dictates that I put as positive a spin on this as possible. The doctors are not happy, but hey, they are on the payroll. It's not his offense that worries me."

"I want to get to that point. I’m not quite there yet. I want to feel comfortable with all the movements on the basketball court."

- Amare Stoudemire

Translation: "For the first time in my career I can honestly say that I am fearful. My brain says one thing, yet my bod is not getting the signal. This does not feel phenominal. However, I CAN say, without reservation, that the Knicks are back."

"He had a lot of pop in his step but he couldn’t do any contact yet so that’s the next step as we move up the road for him."

- Mike Woodson on Iman Shumpert

Translation: I will never admit it, I really like this kid. He may be the baby of the bunch (did you know Shump is only five years younger than 9 year veteran JR Smith?), but he can play. I'm saving him until February

Reinvent.

The 85 Per Cent Nation

"I'm not 80 (percent), yet. So I'm still working to get to that point. But I am improving, I feel the improvement, I feel stronger by the day. Today was the most I've done since the injury, so we'll see how it feels (Monday).

Translation: "If I was 85 per cent I would be starting. No question."

"We're not quite there yet, but we're pretty banged up as a team. We need bodies on the court right now, so if I have to sacrifice my health a little bit for the betterment of the team, then I will.

Translation: "My guys need me. Damn some minor pain."

"I know a lot of our guys have been pretty banged up; it's been a long season so far. So again, if it's needed for me to sacrifice my body for the betterment of the team, I will. Hopefully I can continue to improve the next two days and that way I can feel 100 percent when I get back out there."

Translation: This is not about me. I understand that this is the big city and everything is magnified, but how can I be more clear? This is not about me, no matter what my knees feel like, this is about The New York Knicks."
