Lin will probably come back here eventually, and he will be a star by then. When Kidd retires, he might run the show alongside Felton.

You needed Linsanity to make the Knicks enjoyable for you? Nice.

The team was around .350 before Linsanity. Were you honestly finding that enjoyable?

Yes, you see, because I'm a fan of the Knicks. Win or lose. Pain is to be used as a motivation to look forward to better times, not to whine and cry.

I don't give tick doo doo about Eddy Curry, Billups, Fishlips, DLee, Gallo, or Lin. They play for other teams. I don't find the Miami Heat enjoyable when they win. I don't hate them (well, Rooster maybe ), or wish them ill, but I didn't find the Mavs or Spurs or Rockets enjoyable when they won. No matter how perfectly they played the game.

I am a Knicks fan. I enjoy Knicks basketball whether it's watching Mr.470 or watching Marbles on the sidelines with a towel on his head. Maybe it's the uniform. Maybe it's some sort of genetic deficiency. Maybe I just grew up during the two glory years and it's put some sort of deranged wrinkle in my cerebellum that's beyond the cool, rational, results-oriented outlook that typifies the beauty that is Somberism.

Yes, I did not need Linsanity to make me a joyful Knick fan. Blue and Orange. Everyday, all day.

When Jeremy Lin scores against the Knicks, cheer him as you would cheer Lebron or Kobe.

When Chandler Parson makes a three, "gee, I wish we had HIM" should preclude another trade discussion.

If Jeremy Lin deserves a standing ovation for making us smile, does Toney Douglas deserve extra applause for playing while injured?

Go Rockets.

Cheer to say thanks, then boo to let him know he is the enemy now.

He will probalby get cheered when he gets announced. Standing ovation is possible. Then they will proceed to root for Felton to eat his lunch.

Or

“You guys have been here for all that (stuff). I wasn’t. It’s another ballgame. This is, I guess, a different situation. He’s in Houston playing for the Rockets and trying to help his team win. So everything that I’ve seen on TV and all the people who made a big deal about it — it’s just another game come Monday.” - Jason Kidd

“They should give him a standing ovation when he comes back here, without a doubt. He deserves nothing more but that, for sure." - Ray Felton

Nothing more.

When the game starts, Lin is the opponent. Period. Cheering Lin during the game is cheering against our guys.

It's clobberin' time!

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I wouldn't neither boo or cheer Jeremy Lin, but I would cheer and woop it up when the knicks do their thing on the court against him and the team he plays for.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

What? So does that say a lot about you too then? No, it doesn't. A bunch of fans at the game doing whatever only represent themselves and not every Knick fan in New York.

Wrong

Jeremy Lin gave some fans a reason to identify with the cute little from Harvard, who nobody wanted. He was marketing gold because he was nothing like the smarmy Carmelo Anthony, with his ghetto fabulous smile and imperfect back story.

If Carmelo was just another playground prodigy from West Baltimore, Lin was pure Disney. A feel good story if there ever was one. Lin did not give New York fans hope. He gave them something to identify with in their hearts and wallets. Suddenly, the Cablevision dispute was settled because the demand for Knicks games was through the pinwheel roof. Revenge of the Nerds meets Space Jam, for 25 magical games. Vendors were happy. There were parades every day and the headlines were groovy. Everything was perfect.

Then, just like the genie in Aladdin's Lamp (poof!) Lin was gone.

Hope? The Answer Man hopes the Knicks are 19-5 after tonight.

Lin helped the team, but the Knicks helped him more. He was a reject when he signed here. When he left, he was a starting point guard.

I personally think it'll be mixed. Some cheering, some booing. He didn't do enough in a Knicks uniform to garner a standing O, but also didn't warrant boo-ing Pat Riley style.

I think you cheer the guy. We all enjoyed watching him play. The Knicks sucked before Linsanity last year and were so disorganized it was embarrassing. I know a lot of fans were sick to their stomach with the direction of the team and the piss poor attitude of Carmelo and co.

He got the energy back in the building and provided a nice breathe of fresh air. It also motivated the hell out of Melo to finish strong and reestablish himself as the alpha dog down the stretch.

The Knicks are playing off the charts and our point guard play has been exceptional. I really do fell bad for the kid. The are going to kill him tonight. I expect a 15 point blow out. They need to make up for the embarrassing ass kicking they handed us in Houston.

Too much thought going into cheering an opposing player. Polite applause, and then, on with the business of Knick basketball and home court dominance!

Lin did not motivate Carmelo. Mike Woodson layed down the law.

MS - there will be no "killing" tonight. It's basketball, remember?

Why would you feel bad for a mediocre (with some bright moments on Broadway), multi-millionaire who leveraged a third of a regular season ("no playoff games thank you") into a huge payday?

I don't even see why this thread exists. The idea that Lin MUST receive a standing ovation is laughable.

19-5 looks kinda sexy, yes?

If anyone deserves a standing ovation it is Knicks head coach Mike Woodson.

Who knew JR Smith could play defense?
