Can't generalize over one post from a guy who posts a hand full of times a year. This forum is very enjoyable

I will allow the Cavs to have their Moral W while the Knicks keep the W that actually shows up in the standings.

A win is a win. You're not going to blow out everyone or even win all the games you're supposed to. All things considered this is a reasonable result.

Just to defend NYKMentality: He did not say Melo is THE greatest...he said he is ONE OF THE greatest in the world, which is obviously true.

Moving on...Give me a break with this topic!! That was a great win for us. We were missing:

-- Melo (our best player and the hottest scorer in the league right now)

-- Sheed (a very important backup)

-- Camby (whose absence makes Sheed an even more important backup)

-- Amare (who was being counted on to be our second-leading scorer, and who may very well turn out to be our second-leading scorer)

-- Shumpert (our best perimeter defender)

No, it was not a pretty victory at all, but how many teams can withstand so many key personnel losses and still win?

We let Kyre Irving come into our house and score over 40 points? The last quarter looked more and more like D'Antoni's team and not Woodson's team. How dare we allow this kid to score over 40 points on us. You see what players try to do to Melo when he goes to a basket, they try to destroy him and half of the time Melo does not even get a call. Kyre Irving should have been knocked on his ass every time he drove to the basket. We don't give up over 40 points to a 20 year old. Cleveland think and believe that they have our number and maybe they do. They surly have beaten us enough in the past 2 years. When we go to Cleveland to play them it better be a war. We should smash them and show thier point guard that every time he drives on us we will knock his ass down the same way they try to do to Melo. To me this game was a loss because it looked like we was reqressing backwards to the D'Antoni days with no defense and I don't want to hear crap about we had players missing. Woodson better wake up and make his team play hard defense for 4 quarters not 2.

Papa, you do realize that we were playing with 3 starters and our bench? I agree it was an ugly win but still a win. Ill take ugly wins to losses anyday.

Papabear Says

What if that's all we may have in the playoffs. Each one of these players are pros and it's no excuse for not playing defense. And what is Felton doing? he is susposed to be a point guard not a shooting guard and shooting more that any other player on the team and when he is having a bad shooting day he keeps on shooting. Hey look I love this team and all the players and coach but I refuse to go back to the bad old days. Not having starters in the game is no excuse. Cleveland had a young team out there and when we go to Cleveland they will be ready for us.

If we're without Carmelo and Stat in the playoffs, we lose.
Just like Miami without Lebron and Wade.
Just like Oklahoma without Durant and Westbrook.
Etc, etc.
THems the breaks.

There are players that are not guardable.

Idea is to win the game.

There are many ways to lose the game in NBA but only one to win - execution.
Players can miss the shots, can be beat on D by faster and more talented opponents, can get sick, injured, distracted.
But if team executes the plan, plays together 48 minutes, and every player trusts the team and each other there is always a chance to win.
And this how we played this game... and many other games.
If somebody think this Knicks teams is more talented, athletic, and skilled that majority of teams in NBA you are severely mistaken.
This is not why we are winning. We are winning because the team is plaing bbal the right way, which is the only way to win for this squad.

dude was locked in and loaded, pulling up with hands in his face and still making the shot. Sometimes when a guy gets hot like that, there is very little you can do. Had we shot a better percentage from the line, it would have been a non issues since the game would not have been so close.

Our biggest weakness right now is our free throw shooting. Everyone except Ray and Kidd are suffering from bad free throw shooting. Won't count or mention the guys that don't really get to the line like Novak - though he missed on too.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Somberism takes a new twist.

What's wrong Papabear, lose money on the point spread? Money is a terrible thing to tie your fandom to.

Winning is not enough, we must beat teams we're supposed to beat by a very wide margin.

Star players who are crazy good should be stripped of their skillset upon entering our building. Let Variedjoe score 30, that would have been better. Give me some unknown PF scraping by on the MLE to have a career night against us. That would be palatable.

But don't let Uncle Drew play video games against us! It's...it's...just too much to handle!

Copeland started for us. Say that slowly, close your eyes, and think.

Papabear, is this what they call a softball beachball giant helium balloon thread? You did this on purpose, right?

When you win so much that winning ugly is counted a loss, WOW! I'll take it.

Things are good right now in Knicks land.

Hmm, maybe we need to start keeping an official record of 'Moral Wins' and 'Moral Losses'- could Andrew alter the game picker and scores and schedule to include 'MW' and 'ML' in addition to W's and Ls?
