Automatic weapons are illegal but you can purchase semi automatic weapons and have it converted. Something needs to be done

I can't begin to understand how anyone could harm a child...I can stomach a lot of things but hearing this made me literally sick.
Poor children, poor parents, poor brothers and sisters...poor families. How could he do this to these precious little kindergarteners???

I don't have any kids yet but I went to my baby nephew and just held him and held him and couldn't help but think about how we'd ever be able to let him go into at world where something like this could happen. Every little life is precious, every life needs to be valued.

Last time I felt similarly close was 9/11. I was working then at AT&T NJ and could not reach my wife or my 1st child school whom was 4yrs then. 911 the day the entire country cried & the DJ too!, baddest feeling in the gut and stomach on what occurred.

This was slightly different but same non-good act of murder.
Little kids between 5-10. This is a very different USA or america we're in now.

There is too much ease to get guns & fancy weapons with pull of 1 trigger to unload 70-100 rounds of devastion

The texas folks politically whom support guns usage and many freedoms associated should get a reality check of this

You're home by now & probably like the DJ give you kids, your spouse or girfriend, your nephews or nieces when you see them
a BIG LOVING Hugg and let each and all know you love them all the time every time before these tragedies occurs.

Thats all we have now to hold OR glue things somewhat together is feelings and tightness of your families OR closest friends.

All in all stick together
support one another during any periods of understanding is needed. Especially for folks affected by Sandy
and this horrific tragedy today. The youngsters the future had no chance today & thats the shame of it all!

As a dad with a young child and one on the way I was sick to my stomach all day.

What's worse is there truly is no easy answers. The guy murdered his mother and stole her legally obtained and registered firearms and performed unspeakable horror. What policy change prevents this from happening? I'd endorse it if one existed.

The truth is, in a free society, we are sometimes at the mercy of monsters.

Control the guns, the angry nuts will get them anyway. It's a big, evil world, remember. And the little kids and other unarmed innocents will still not have any.

Or the angry nuts will use a truck full of fertilizer and kill hundreds.
Or they'll use boxcutters and a few planes and kill thousands.

And I don't own a gun.

This is not about guns, the media, or really violent video games, or anything else.
This is about evil. And the capacity any of us have to do evil. At almost any time.

Pray for the families. Pray that we make the most of the opportunites God gives each of us to hopefully reach out to someone who's possibly going to be angry and crazy.

And I cried like a baby, and I'm most likely twice your size, bro.

I know God to be patient but boy do humans try his patience. I can only imagine what he feels but some day maybe not in our lifetime there will be a day of reckoning and putting all this badness to rest. May he comfort all those experiencing the worst of what evil has to offer at this time.

Unfortunately there are too many psychos out there in this country who make it an issue. One bad apple spoils a whole bunch. Get rid of guns and violent entertainment all together. Not worth lives esp of children

They will get guns anyway but it will be a lot harder! Meaning less incidents

Something similar just happened in China except the guy had a knife and injured kids not kill

I have 4 kids. Youngest is a 3rd grader. When I saw this in tv, I watched a little and changed the channel. It broke my heart and acted like an ostrich and buried my head in the sand.

My prayers to all the victims of this terrible act.

I got 2 daughters. This makes me sick. I cried reading the president's address about the lost futures of these children.

TKF, I agree. I wanted this guy alive. I wanted him to experience pain and hell on earth. It burns me beyond belief this..I don't even know what to call it, I refuse to call this shooter a man, person, human....It burns me this THING got to take the easy way out. This thing deserved so so so much worse.

My hearts go out to the families and the victims are in my prayers.

This is so sad. Worst thing is its not the first and not the last. Sick individuals are out there and American gun laws give them the opportunity to ruin innocent lives. I do not understand why we need guns to begin with. I can't even think straight about this topic. We need changes to the gun laws, because disturbed people are out there and no law abiding citizen needs access to guns and sickos surely don't.

Yes we can repeat the mantra of "guns dont kill people, people kill people". I just don't see any reason for people to have guns at this point in our society. The English are not coming and the Native Americans are not a threat. I am not talking about weapons used for hunting, that has a place in our society still. Guns for killing animals I can live with much easier than guns that are for killing humans. Unfortunately its a huge business and the stupid rednecks need their stupid guns and the lobbyists will not allow our government stop this.

I followed the story all day yesterday. I can't even articulate what I actually want to say...

May he burn in hell. May those poor children have gone quickly and not have suffered. May the families of ALL those involved, both victims and witnesses, be able to some semblance of peace some day. "Tragedy" just doesn't feel strong enough.
