Don't like either but can live with JR because of his defense and because he's making about one-third of what Jamal is.

thank Mr MVP's contract for that one

Amare is the current problematic contract for the Knicks, not Melo.

YUP, defense, defense.

Jamal is the better scorer but, defense is what wins games when the offense goes south

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

total sarcasm and trolling on my part to poke fun

honestly Knicks have done an A+ job building up this roster and that was the biggest thing I didnt like about Melo trade. We lost Felton and lost cap space and picks would make it too hard to fill out an effective roster around Melo and Amare. Totally wrong on that one and thrilled to be so.

I like Melo, but also thought the Knicks gave up too much in the trade. I think the kudos goes to Grunwald, who has made the best of both the cap and roster issues. I like a healthy Amare, however just imagine this team if say Blatch was our starting 4 right now. Hoping that Amare will come back with a vengeance and works in well with the new roster. Team might be unstoppable if that happens.

Agree with Bonn above. JR is a bargain compared to Crawford right now in terms of salary and relative production.

I don't believe some of you, when JC came to visited us about a possible comeback before last season started, nobody had any problem with it, and was hoping he pick the knicks.

After the playoffs last season, most of you wanted JR to kick rocks. Jr's was a half decent defender in denver, melo was a half decent denver up til this season. Being sorrounded by defensive players a coach who preaches defense changes a player.

You put ginobli on a MDA roster, and you will see a horrible defender, you put ginobli on a pop roster, and you see a adequate defender. There's no doubt in my mind that if JC was on this roster his defensive awareness would be the best you ever seen out of him, similar to allan houston under JVG.

the difference is, we have (this year) seen or been reminded what defense can do. JR defends and, right now our offense isn't really problematic....except for our foes

Jamal I wouldn't mind having. I always thought of him as the Little Guard that Could. Unlike most, I was sad to see him leave. People blame him in part for our lack of success but, they never seem to take into account that Houston was supposed to be the starting 2guard with Steph running the point. He was never supposed to be the 1st or 2nd option.

Good point about Houston, it seem like he retired long before IT got here, but in all reality it wasn't and he was suppose to be a factor..

Crawford admitted recently in an interview that last offseason was the first time in his entire career that he actually worked on his game. Imagine what Jamal could have done if he hadn't waited until he was in his 30s...

I'll take JR. They both have their lapses but at least JR plays defense.

Crawford's a better ball handler and playmaker than JR, but that's not really a big need for us since we have Ray, Kidd and Priggs. I think the extrat defense and rebounding JR provides is a better fit for us.

Yes, I could definitely see Crawford taking less to play here.

That's the best reasons why JR is better than Crawford. Besides, back then our system didn't fit Crawford at all so he was stuck not able to do what he does best.
