No thanks. Camby can rest 90% of the season. We just need him for the playoffs. There is no room in the rotation for another guard or wing player anyhow.

It would be nice to have an SG who can actually shoot.

Camby is a playoff tested performer though.

We already have a guard who can shoot. Jason Kidd.

JKidd is a 3 point specialist at this point. He is not an SG. This reminds me of when you would say this about Landry Fields (his first year when he was hitting the 3)

Henderson is a 25% career shooter from 3 pt range. That's a couple of notches below Landry Fields!

Red Auerbach once said, "I don't need shooting guards or point guards, small forward or power forwards... I want basketball players."

Jason Kidd is a basketbal player.

And Anudder Thing

Allanfan20 wrote:A lot of you don't like this idea but this is something you would have to do. He's a good good good shooting guard who can start or come off the bench and he can rotate with Shumpert/Smith. Camby is giving us nothing, came to camp out of shape and now he's a 38 year old with plantar fascitis. That's not an injury that just goes away. Ewing retired just a couple of years after and Glen Rice retired almost immediately.

This is a case when it's OK to trade big for small and experienced for young.

You Do Not Trade Mentors

This season, (Marcus Camby) has been in charge of Copeland's rookie hazing. If you catch the young fella in the locker room before games, where he usually is watching film of the opponent, you'll see Camby's biggest influence. Copeland has to bring a Disney Princess bright-pink backpack to every game. Camby said one of his daughters -- he has two, Maya and Milan -- actually thought it was for her when he bought it.

At first, Copeland was embarrassed carrying the accessory, but he's now comfortable with it - well, at least for the time being.

"I have a good time with it, honestly," (Copeland) said. "It took me so long to get here (to the NBA). I'm having fun with the whole process, even if it's at my expense. Everybody has a good time with it, but I can't wait to get rid of it."

Marcus, along with you, we are having a good time.

No, Allanfan20, you do NOT trade away good chemistry.

Road Trip

"I'm looking into this costume he has to wear on the flight from New York to L.A. for Christmas. I'll take pictures and tweet it out. I gave him an option. I told Cope, 'Do you want to be a bumblebee or a lady bug?' He chose bumblebee, so I'm going with the lady bug (laughs)."

That is a wonderful fluffy line.

Apparently G Hendersen is available. If we can give up picks and maybe Shumpert etc.. I would do it. Hes a scorer at 2 g and could be a budding star over time

Which picks would those be?

As others have pointed out, Jason Kidd is the Knicks shooting guard and leading the league in 3pt shooting. JR Smith is on the roster. Now any and all notions that you need players who more prototypically suit the role people have in their heads about position should be completely mitigated by 17-5.

People need to stifle their inclination to fix what is clearly not broken.

Do we worry beyond this season?

JR has been great but do we want to give him a long term contract? If Henderson can do much of what he does at a lower price and a higher on court IQ, and more professional off, it might be an idea.

It does make some sense and Gerald Henderson is still young unlike Nash. Anyone know what his defense is like?

worst trade proposal i have seen in a long time... we are stacked at 2g with Shump coming back and our only weakness is interiour D + Rebounding... both Camby's specialties... zero sense

If you believe Jason Kidd will be able to play 80 more games at 25 a game--then you have a point. But the odds are not high.

I doubt the knicks are shopping the league for a sg when they are 17 & 5. They are not messing with team chemistry this year
