He looks awesome and noticed nothing on his knees. Amare has the same type of mentality an athlete like MJ or KObe has. He might not be the winner like them-but hes a hard hard worker like those guys who have the top 1% type of pride. How many guys with big contracts wouldve just dogged it at 30 years old--a LOT. He will augment this team in a positive way with his high FG %. On any NBA teams second unit Amare presents as a difficult match up and can be used in the 4-1 set when Tyson is out and as a 4 with Tyson to go big against big teams. My concern here---playing him too many minutes if he does well. We need him he needs to be used in a 20 minute or so role for awhile.

That's one reason I can never root against this guy or chime in with the Amare hate or jokes. He works so hard and wants to win so badly. Not his fault he has had some unfortunate injuries. Even last year after the fire extinguisher incident came back in game 4 with one hand and performed at such a great level. The man is prideful and in the playoffs has always stepped his game up.

People forget in the Boston series before he hurt his back was giving Garnett the business. If healthy he will definitely help us.

Of course!

Who can argue that.

Funny thing people HAVE argued that...this silly notion that Melo and Amare can't play together as if it had nothing to do with the coach at the helm when they struggled.

Amar'e is still on top of my list. When he's healthy, he's a beast. IMO to many people were ready to give up on him but they haven't taken into account the warrior he is in terms of fighting to get back. Getting cracked in the Knee isn't an indication of being brittle. ANYONE can bang knees and really mess themselves up. I think this team will need Amar'e in the playoffs and i'm praying for his health so he can finally have the kind of playoff performance I know he can have. Now we don't have to run him down since the team is so deep. It also makes things easier on Sheed and the other bigs to have STAT back. Here's hoping for a strong return for STAT. IMO a healthy STAT can put us over the top for a run at the title.

I'm hoping he has a great season. My problem with some of his critics on this board, is that because he's had a few injuries and had one poor season because of back woes, they make out he's been a scrub his whole career. It's ridiculous.

One thing with those photo's- during the offseason he lost some weight because last year he was too heavy and it affected his explosiveness. Now it kind of looks like he's carrying more muscle, so I hope it doesn't slow him down again.

Hey, he stole my post from yesterday
I wrote (and I think Bonn responded) that Amare had been looking good in his workouts. Was moving very well, running and dunking the ball. Seeing him still rise above the rim to throw it down was good to see
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

hey Knicksnot? Why the early attacks? Guys working hard to rehab and your attacking his defense and everything else. I think Im going to vent my frustration by trashing Melo.

Guy does work hard and is a good guy. And means well.

I just have little confidence that he will be able to sustain a comeback based on his health.

Defense? I can get over that little thing.

i agree with knickshot. Amare is a good guy and a great player BUT his injuries are always a big thing for him. if he can stay healthy than it will mkae us even more of a dangerous team

Yes, he is a physical specimen. But dont think his body can hold up in an 82 game season.

well he doesn't have to worry about that this season, all we need him for is 52 games

Along as he's healthy for the stretch run and the playoffs. As for the regular season, Woody should definitely ease him super duper slow. Better to stay on the cautious side, as we're a deep enough team.

We'll need him to beast alongside Melo in the playoffs to have a shot at contention.

Amare makes 20 million per year.

Houston was a great guy too but he killed our cap for years.

Wow. What a surprising change of events! So out of character for the fishman

Hoping the new improved Hakeem moves in the low post don't place any added stress on those Stat knees.
