There was a piece of data (1 game) that was consistent with his view and he discussed it. We beat the best team by 20 points without Melo. If the reverse happened (we had lost to the worst team in the league by 20 points without Melo), I'm sure we'd see lots of "I told you so" comments too. And they'd probably be worded much more harshly (comments like "sabermetrics is bull****")

But didn't we beat the best team with Melo by 20 also?

Yeah, so if we use those two games as the sole evidence (and I'm not suggesting we should but you brought it up), the conclusion would be zero net impact of Melo.

So if we toss out those 2 games, we're still 12-4 with Melo leading the way right?
