Realize you are being sarcastic. However the tiring and common misconception on this board is that if you are optimistic about the Knicks and Melo, you are somehow aligned with Dolan or think he has done a good to great job. He mostly has not. But perhaps Dolan is finally learning to stay out of the way with a good GM/coach combo.
I'm a believer since the beginning of this year as Woodson stresses D.......and good D keeps you in games even if your O is not running smoothly. Did not think the record would be this good at this point however.
I totally didn't read that as sarcasm, maybe you understand some history here that I don't.
At the end of the day, 12-4 is a fine result and it's a results-driven business. Now, 72-10 don't mean a thing without the ring, but I can't fast-forward to the future, we have to play the season first and then we'll hope for the best when the time comes.
The hatred of Melo and what he represents (or doesn't represent) runs deep for some on thses boards. I suspect that even a championship would not diminish the hatred...as there might still be a sour taste and lament that the large quantity of homegrown middling talent that was given up in the Melo deal was not on hand.
you have no idea what your talking about. Who hates Melo and why?
All I have ever said is he's failed miserably in the playoffs year after year and doesnt have the individual awards (1st/2nd/3rd all NBA, all defense, MVP votes, scoring titles etc) to validate the greatness claimed by a whole lot of posters here who joined around the same time 'straightshot' joined.
He's played well in this league for a decade, this year is more of the same. Like that one Denver team that advanced this Knick team is loaded as well... veteran backcourt, defensive bigs, excellent role players, well coached. What of any of this is suprise?
I predicted 50 wins. They are on pace for 60. Good!
Hate?
To me Melo = ARod (minus the awards). Lots more headlines than wins. HOWEVER, ARod had one great postseason. His #s are terrible, his contract is terrible and his time is done. However for one Oct he did was a star is supposed to do and carried the Yanks with monster HR after monster HR. It was an amazing run and I was happy for him and it was great to watch.
Im just waiting for Melo to provide this fan with those sorts of moments. Maybe this will be the year right?
