They say he's better suited as a centre these days. Gasol of a few years ago would have been great, but it might be best if you catch some Laker games to see what he's like now.

old and slow....where do i sign :)

Gasol is the player you want at the 4 position over Amar'e but I question his fit with Melo and the chuck gang

That is my concern. Gasol has really slowed down the past 3yrs. Amare is a lot younger but he is always injured so I would take a older/slower Gasol anyday. At least he will give us something

He's a much better fit with the chuck gang. He doesn't need the ball, he defends, rebs and passes better than Amare. We no longer have to worry about keeping Amare involved at the expense of Melo. It's a no brainer at this point but probably too good to be true

I dont know about this one guys. The Lakers are really good at completely destroying teams in trades. If this isnt a completely bs and is actually being talked about, Shump most likely goes.

If it's Gasol for Amare straight up I think you have to do it. The years and the money are better and Lord knows we need rebounding.

Still think Gasol has the most punchable face in sports, but I can look past that if he can score in the low block.

I don't think his skill set gets utilized to it's strength in this system. I see him as a wasted acquisition.

If this were to go down, I would forgive MDA for all the crappy things that he has done here.

I don't see why the Lakers would pull the trigger on this trade but I wouldn't be upset if it actually happened. I'd love to see a healthy STAT come back, help the Knicks and prove that he can play with Melo but who the heck knows.

I love change!!!!

If Amare is healthy I want him a knick. If not, not even a consideration.

So lets root for a healthy Amare and see this thing out!

The source is, The rumor about town is ... I don't think there is anything to this. Remember, Amare is injured and has uninsured knees that currently are keeping him from playing.

if amare is healthy this trade can help both teams.. pau may be soft but he is a long body, with a lot of skill.... and his deal is shorter...

if woodson would just go balls to the wall and not worry about hurting feelings, he would run the offense through kidd and gasol.... but we know that won't happen, gasol would have to pick up scraps left by the chuck gang, and that would be wasting his skills..

If the deal is on the table, there's probably no reasonable way the Knicks could pass it up. That being said, how could it be? The Lakers have to know he's injured and injury-prone just like everyone else. I don't see it happening right now. So, let's just wait until he's healthy, see how he plays and if he can fit. If he can put up good numbers but isn't fitting, maybe a trade is an option. Right now it isn't.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I agree man. When was the last time LA made a bad basketball decision. Pau is most likely a shell. At the same time, Grunwald has done an amazing job so far so I will sit back and watch.
