We've beaten Miami and San Antonio.
We have a very good record with a tough schedule WITHOUT Shump and STAT, who we are now starting to miss badly.
We've shown the ability to run a very fluid offense and play great D. Hopefully webcam do that without Kidd if he misses extended time.
This loss hurt a lot, but not nearly as much as Houston. Melo and Chandler were great. I'm not going to pile on Melo for missing the last shot and free throws after playing 50 minutes. I think if Shumpert comes back ready to go and STATs health can be managed we're top 2-3 in the east. I think we're a better team than Brooklyn. But they showed me something tonight.
This is a very important point (though the Houston loss was not back-to-back). All four of our losses -- even though a couple of them do sting, especially the Nets -- have been the types of games even excellent teams will lose. They're all road games, and three were back-to-backs against good to excellent teams (Memphis, Dallas, Nets), and the other (Houston) was going to be tough not matter what.
The key to winning close to 60 games is winning at home and beating bad and mediocre teams on the road. Do that and you are going to win your share of games, and we have pretty much done that, really since Woody took over.
That said, my overall feeling about the Nets game is that when you consider all our injuries and Felton's horror show and the Nets playing very well overall and Deron being huge and the game being at B'klyn -- the fact that the Nets needed OT to beat us is not a good sign for them. I think when we are at 100 percent we are easily better than them.
When we were up by two at the half I shook my head and was wondering how the Nets were not up by double digits.
