Just my guess and mostly speculative based on watching his teams play the last few years.

As for the Knicks, I like the way their offense looks right now.

It's not speculation, you are right. Melo slows the game up for Dantoni when he goes in the post. Dantoni wanted Melo and his $100mil in the corner in a Shawne Williams/Steve Novak role jacking 3's and spacing the floor for Amare and Lin. Basicially Dantoni did not need Melo but since the Knicks are paying Melo $100mil it behooved them to get a new system in place cos you not paying a guy $100mil to stand in the corner!

You're right. It is why he doesn't like to have a traditional big man on the floor. I believe I had a quote that I posted once or twice where he said something to the effect that bigs slow down the flow of his offense.

If D'Antoni doesn't keep Howard happy they won't go far and might make it tougher on the Lakers to sign him long term. D'Antoni is smart enough to know this so he must feel like Nash is going to make everything right. Can only imagine the drama if Nash is out for most of the season.

Howard aint leavin LA. He's had a home there for years and it will be his team soon. Being the man for the Lakers is a big deal. Much bigger than being the man for Orlando

Last I heard, Nash was not able to jog yet. Not sure if there have been more updates.

That's my point, he isn't the man right now, he's been the odd man out. Nash should be able to fix that but if he's out for most of the season, look out. Howard didn't come to LA to be a role player. Its going to be an interesting season in LA.

That sounds like at least another month. Even longer to get in playing shape.

No Howard actually fits Dantoni's system. In Amare's old role with the pick n roll. Howard is not going to be in the corner jacking threes. The guy who has already had run-ins with Dantoni is Paul Gasol who wants to play inside while Dantoni wants him in the corner. Dantoni said either guys buy in or they will find other guys who will. Pau slows the game down which is inexcusable in Dantoni's system. He is a goner

I agree about the P&R, they need Nash to get the most out of that play. I agree Howard won't be jacking up 3s in the corner but he might find his role closer to that of a role player without a PG who has the P&R down like Nash does and he won't like that. The alternative is D'Antoni putting more post ups into his offense if Nash isn't around.

Woodson is dong a very good job. MDA does it a different way. I't was not working. SO he left/fired/exiled/deposed/castout/sent home.

I think we got that memo. We also got the one about 18-6. Saw that also.

Im sure your all excited about the rest of the season. I am too. I'll watch about 50-60 games. Tonite I got my circut training then 90 min of tennis time. Get home, crack a beer and have some dinner and DVR thru the game with Wife.

We'll discuss the current season.

Do you know what we won't discuss? MDA. We might talk about the Offensive efficency but thats on Woodson.

But you can talk about woodson, Lin, Gallo and what ever. whats left to discuss?

nalod this is a typical bait thread, because as soon as someone defends dantoni, they will be called a gallo lover, and then the mess starts. notice, the same posters who say the melo haters are the ones dragging up the trade and old players and coach's are the very ones bringing up the past. how many threads like this has the "melo hater" crowd made? NONE.....

Yep I said the same thing in the other thread. The people creating these threads are not the Melo, woodson, felton haters but the gallo, dantoni, lin haters telling others to move on
