I just wish most people were able to enjoy linsanity AND the current knicks. It seems like you have to choose between one and the other

I think people enjoyed Linsanity, but that's done and so far gone.

What I'm enjoying?

A team that wins with defense, is dominant at home and hasn't suffered a back to back loss under its coach in the reg season.

That's amazing to me, and it has potential to be Sustained unlike linsanity.

Linsanity has left the building. Linsanity is deader than dead. Long live the traditional war chants of dee-fense.

Linsanity was fun for the moment.

WINSANITY is going to be fun for quite a while (and is something that us Knicks fans hope NEVER stops).

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Right now, this is great for a long suffering Knick fan like myself but having my family enjoy my Knicks with me is just in another level.

Well said. For sure we have a better team now, designed to go deeper into the playoffs and probably contend if they continue their recent play.

That Linsanity run was the single greatest stretch of any sport I had ever seen in my life. Yeah, we weren't going to win a championship, but it wasn't just about "the wins". But you know what, if Lin didn't get hurt who knows how things would have continued. I still don't believe what I saw anyway. It was beyond special, it was like Rudy but for a decent part of a season and it was ended by an injury (even before the injury was announced you could see he was hurt). It was magical and it's not fair to either team (in a sense) to compare them straight across. I know it's hard to understand, but sometimes it isn't just about the wins. That is the end goal for sure, but sometimes something special happens and you just can't quantify it with wins.

There was an 8 game stretch last year, the peak of Linsanity, that no team will ever touch, UNLESS they win the championship in Dramatic fashion, not just win it. Sounds crazy but last year was unbelievable and again, not just about the wins. I was on the edge of my seat. Now, we are blowing people out quite often. That is great, but that is not anywhere near as exciting.

From an excitement standpoint I thought Lin's run was more exciting because of the plot that seemed to come right out of the movies.

I still would take this streak first. Not because of the records that it set, because this team has spent too many years getting off to a bad start and it setting the tone for the entire season. This is a great sign.

I'm not going bat**** crazy over our record because its a long season and a lot can happen along the way. Just enjoying the ride, we'll see what happens.

Thanks fellas!

I've officially coined the term. lol

Here's to a strong year of consistent WINSANITY, all the way to the top, and many more to come.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I take this over Lin because its about the team, not 1 player

I prefer this because its something that can last not that run he had

Guys ask for team ball and Lin didn't epitomize that, it was all about him and he started playing like it

What the heck are you talking about? You can like the run we are on as all of us do. But don't say Lin wasn't about the team. He epitomized the team and took a bunch of nobodies on a winning streak.
He brought basketball back to NY and made the game fun to watch again. It was pure team ball. Don't degrade the past cause the present is to your liking.

WOW

If it weren't for Linsanity, Knicks wouuld not have had a fat chance in hell of making the playoff last season because they were already a team that was struggling. The Linsanity spurt kept the team afloat and then the Melo-party-pooper ruined it after he came back and screwed up team chemistry.

In hindsight, you can rip on Linsanity but just imagine if knicks had made it all the way to the finals, you wouldn't talk down the contribution Lin gave to the team.

Again, total disrespect. Lin has had this all his life as an NBA player.

not Lin as a person, good kid and all, but the run was more about him and not Novak stepping up, Shumpert stepping up, Jeffries and Chandler holding it down inside, where was all their praise and glory. There would be no Toronto game winner without Shumpert, Novak opened up the floor for Lin to drive and run the pick n roll now Shumpert/Novak/Jeffries/Chandler are nobodies huh?, JR added in some good games

He didn't bring basketball back to New York, STAT did, the game was fun to watch it just sucked losing. What's pure team ball, I'm sick of that phrase, there's isn't 1 way to play basketball, you mix it up and create a system. I liked the run we had it was nice but over rated in so many ways. Carmelo took over when STAT and Lin went down and we won games and was that fun to watch, hell yeah, but he gets **** on because Lin is no longer here.

Our run now is team based not named after 1 guy getting all the glory. I hate **** like that in team sports similar to how Denver got rid of Tebow got a true winner and built around him and look at their success. We're better off without a PG who would look off STAT and Melo to feed Landry Fields and take off balance runners and get striped at half court and turn the ball over like a freshmen in his 1st varsity game

The future is bright, Linsanity bull**** is over, its about the KnicksTape, not Melo, not STAT, no one but the New York Knicks are this is what we've all been waiting for

enjoy the ride, real fans

just imagine if we didn't pick up Billups' option, signed Chandler with the cap space, re-signed Billups, still got Novak, JR still came over after his China stint and we fired D'Antoni from the start and hired Woodson

imagine if STAT, Melo, Shumpert, Jeffries and Chandler weren't dealing with injuries all year and we had a full camp

imagine if we won the Cleveland game STAT came back or didn't lose to the Bobcats and faced the Pacers in Round 1 instead of the Heat

we can imagine all we want but I'm focus on reality

Lin wasn't playing selfish basketball though. He was playing team basketball. It just so happened that he was able to score a bunch of points in the process. Was that a bad thing? Linsanity is part of Knicks history.

How is it that Knicks fans are brushing it off like it was just another normal day in MSG?

I would take this 7-1 start over Linsanity any day
