They can still put Stat and Melo in together at the end of games so nobody feels slighted.

So where is the second scorer coming from if STAT is on the bench??..STAT has to play at least 35 minutes per game for the Knicks to be successful..he has to play with Anthony at some point...How do we compete if we only have one legit scorer on the floor when top teams start at least three...

Maybe thirty minutes a night and sit out back to backs. Stat if healthy is way too good to wear down. The Knicks will need him next spring.

I'm thinking that's why we have 15 guys who can play right now..Maybe less minutes for all starters...But we need Melo and STAT to play together...It's the only way we will be competitive...

I like the idea of starting Novak with Melo. But, as we saw in the playoffs last year, the simple solution is just for Novaks man never to leave him. Remember?

I was actually surprised last year at Novaks defense. He started off horrendously - always backing off and giving too much space. That killed him in two ways, people would take the open shot or just drive past him
as he wasn't fast. But when he got up on them his length helped a ton and when they drove past them we had Chandler and now we will have Camby as well.

We are going to need JR to step up his play and we are going to need offense from other guys and that is a bit scary. Unfortunately, JR seems to play best when he is not depended on much, a bit like how Melo played brilliantly in the Olympics. Chandler doesn't have an offensive game beyond P&R and putbacks. Felton is going to be key along with Copeland imo. I wish we had held onto our offensive Stat insurance policy, otherwise known as Lin. Sorry, had to get that in there. I was harping on this since they didn't match Lin's offer.

If we can find a way for both Melo and Stat to light it up at the same time Im for it, if not we should find a way for them to get theirs in shifts and bring them in at the end and hope for the best.

amare has to come off the bench now because it seems like everytime he coems back to teh starting lineup he gets hurt. Also i still dont think amare/melo fit on the floor together. I love melo at the 4 he just excels there. I also think amaare along with jr and pablo will destroy any teams second unit. Our bench will the toughest in the league

Just too much to ask a player of Amar'e caliber to come off the bench. There are much easier ways of handling that. You can have him sit early in the 1st so that the sub pattern has him play a lot when Melo sits. This way you keep his pride intact and still reap the benefits of his talent. Personally I don't think the problem is about STAT and Melo, but rather our lack of quality PG's in the past. With the PG's we have now I don't expect any issues at all. I think things are going to work out great. When you have great passers you don't have distribution issues.

The problem is Stat and Tyson. And that might be far less a problem since Stat is gonna be out for much of his remaining knick games.

Too much to ask a player of HIS CALIBUR? Are you kidding me? We are paying him like village idiots we can ask him to polish everyones shoes if we want to.

Like I said you don't get second opinions if you're feeling spry and mended....Unbelievable.

Well if we're as deep as everyone says we are we should manage if we don't BUILT IN EXCUSE that will last an eternity.

This will probably typical of his career going forward..We got half a season from him..STAT, Donnie and MDA took Dolan to the cleaners again..

No matter what happens now, this isn't the team most people were expecting when we got Melo. STAT is going to have to accept the fact he's a 25 mpg guy now. Only way to prolong his career. Doesn't mean we won't be good, but even the biggest optimist has to admit STAT cannot be relied upon to be part of a championship puzzle. Depressing start to the season.

Yeah but Stat tried to hold up his end of the bargain. He was just opportunistic.

Are we cursed or something. I mean we all had to suffer through the isiah era for years in the hope that the knicks would be relevent again. 2010 was suppose to be the starting ppoint where we would be back in meaningful playoff races but we just can seem to get the pieces together without injuries. Now im not giving up on the season at all but we already have bad injuries with JR,Shump,Amare, and Camby. Why do the Knicks always get injuries at the worst times and why is it always in bunches

I think the Amare signing was a risky move by Walsh. He had to come away with someone. Amare has a ton of character and his leadership and play for the first half of 10-11 was amazing. He just can't hold up physically. Its too bad. He definitely has the heart and the talent to be a star.

I cant blame walsh. Like you said we missed out on every free agent. the goal was lebron and we failed so if we didnt come away with a all-star after wasting two years clearing space the fans would have been pissed
