Thats what MDA told Tony Douglass

Last time you were complaining about his shooting altogether, you wanted him to stop outright... After the last game he went 5-7 from the three, now u complain about the stop and pop...We will see where u are next week...

Here is his shot chart. What jumps out at you?

Man, does he make a killing off that corner 3!

He needs to stop and pop more from the baseline....

Knickshot...Right now, Felton is our second best option on the offense..Melo has no other help...Maybe u want Melo to jack 40 shots per game, I don't....It's preseason, He needs to get his legs under him...Keep shooting Felt!!!

That is exactly the point! The shots from the corner are probably assisted/off passes. To dribble the ball up the court and to pop kills us and him. Often he has the mindset of a score first PG instead of a pass first PG, the only problem with that is that he cant shoot.

When CB came down the court and stopped and popped, I was ok with it because it was a good shot.

Same for Melo (on a different scale). He often settles for the jumper when he should not.

You are wrong..Point Guards have to shoot to keep the defense honest...CB was the worst guy as far shot selection I have seen in my life..U want to talk hero ball, his picture is next to it..And u love it...I hated CB and his hero ball game....

I wonder if Felton will ever get the nickname MrBigShot? Perhaps MrBrickShot is more suitable.

Again, this same logic of the PG has to shoot is what kept Tony Douglass shooting.

Rondo seems to know that he can't shoot and passes off many wide open shots.

I now seriously wonder if you know what shot selection mean...Because if you bring of Chauncy Billups, who is probably the worst guy in the league at shot selection and u say u like his shot selection then I'm not sure if u know the definition of shot selection...

CB's game is about hero ball...He was horrible as a Knick..He though that there wasn't a shot that wasn't a good shot whether in rhythm of the offense or not...It was easy to amnesty him because he could not run the pick and roll...Come on...

Reading comprehension.

I said that I am ok with him stopping and popping because IT WAS A GOOD SHOT.

I did not say that I like or dislike his (overall) shot selection. Billups did/does not shoot for a good percentage. He is a good 3pt shooter though - 39 pct for his career is very good.

FYI:

Felton - TS = 49.8, PER 14.4 (AWFUL)
CB - TS = 58.1, PER 19.1

from where you shoot and when you shoot and are you taking shots off the dribble? off passes? playground syle?

Furthermore, if you are an awful 3 point shooter or awful from certain distances and/or spots, then you should probably adjust your SHOT SELECTION.

RayFelt shoots 3.3 3's a game, Rondo shoots 0.7

Perhaps that is why Rondo is 48 pct for his career and Felton is at 42 - He has better shot selection though a pretty awful (outside) shooter.

What am I missing?

Man, ray is really starting some hard core rivary with such tough words! Dude is throwing it down hard and drawing a line in the sand with his tough talk!

The raw turf war he bringing could not just divide the city, but the country as well!

Sticking up for his owner shows some intense loyalty, team unity, and that they are all behind Melo! It shows he came to camp in shape! It shows he is willing to sacrifice his game and do what it takes to win! Example of Leadership and a unified voice not just for his team, but for his generation! His words alone deserve a statue not in front MSG, no but when you land on Manhatten from the Brooklyn Bridge a 20 foot tall statue of Sugar Ray Felton should be peering down on those who land in "Knick country" and they should know don your Orange and Blue or turn around and go back on the bridge!

No tougher words spoken from Westchester county!

Last. It was a worse year for him (42 vs 40) but that is pretty telling either way.

What u are missing is telling me about Billups' percentage..Shot selection is about when u shoot within the rhythm of the offense and whether it's a good look or a good shot for u..It has little to do with percentage and to a even lessor extent...If a player does not hit a shot, it does not mean it was poor shot selection...For example, Rondo should not take 3 pointers, he is just that bad a shooter but he should take 15 footers as long as it within the rhythm of the offense, even if he shoots a poor percentage and he does...I would have to think that is a must for all NBA PGs...In my opinion, there should be no such restrictions for Felton because he can legitimately hit those shots...Now, when he takes them in the shot clock and in the rhythm of the offense is important...CB was just awful with the Knicks when it came to shot selection...He would run down court and jack up a three no matter what the shot clock was doing or whether or not the offense was set or ready for rebounding..Just awful...That's poor shot selection too even if you are shooting 40% from the three...

Okay, is there a chart breaking down before and after all-star break? If so I would like to see both charts and compare.

what jumps out on the shot chart isn't his "baseline" shooting, it's the volume of shots he gets near the rim. if defenses sag off of him, he can shoot down the lane.
