The Knicks are in trouble because Walsh wanted to chase the ultimate star. Every other gm knew his goal so to get to a place where it was a possibility he was fleeced by every gm that he did business with. In the process picks, and some good players were moved. When things didn't work out he had to come away with something and that was Amare. Amare was amazing his first half season in NY. But there was a huge risk in acquiring Amare and only a desperate guy would take that on. Walsh made an Isiah type move with that signing and it appears that it will come back to haunt the Knicks.
how is a winning roster, one of the youngest in the league with Felton, Gallo, Chandler, Amare, Fields, Mosgov, etc with picks and MAX cap space available being put in a bad position by Walsh? HOW HOW HOW?
What put us in a bad position was trading away the roster for MElo, leaving us with only ancient players to fill the roster. Now we have no pipeline of young players. It could have been stomached if we at least kept Lin... then you can have the old lunch pale guys up front and watch the backcourt of the future develop in Lin/Shump.
Walsh cleaned out Isiah's mess and now we have it back again. A roster of guys not worth the money with no future. Good times.
Thank god Im a NY Giant fan... its the only saving grace my sportworld has these days.
Having survived a nasty bout with cancer myself I have no problem with the use of the word here. Dolan is the Knicks cancer until he proves otherwise. He's a loyal guy and he spends. I will give him that. The problem is he is loyal to douchebags and spends on idiots.
Walsh wasnt perfect but he was the first and only GM here to have a plan and get us younger and athletic and big.
