why are you guys rattling cage. He's a Big Bird over there. Seriously, Lampe has some upside, how much we'll know in a few years but he does have some downside like his feet which seem to be big slugglish. He has a great shot and seems to handle the ball well but would he have gotten the chance in NY-finesse players don't normallly get the chance to develope. Sweetney may be the exception-he's a banger with fine instinct and hands like a vacuum cleaner.

could we wait until Lampe puts a string of these games together.

I seem to recall the odd game or two where shandon anderson scored 30 or so points.

we did get a good player- perhaps the cost was too high and perhaps isiah was too anxious to make something happen.

Ray Williams-32pts-Italian league
Eddie Wilken-23pts,12rebs-Turkey league
Hawthorne Wingo-12/14-Australia league

I think we gave up on these guys too early.

Seriously i think we dont have to get into an argument about wether the european leagues have the same level as the nba!!! ;-)
So of course it has not the same meaning to score in an euroleague as it has in the nba!!!
BUT players like Milicic, Lampe or even Dirk were not drafted for their stats in euroleagues!!! (NON of them ever had any significant numbers there!!!!!!). They were solely drafted based on their potential!!!! And i think thats the right reason!!! As its the same with US draftees!!! Their highschool stats (and those are the stats you got to compare them to, because in europlayers are mostly of that age!!!) are no real standard for the stats they can reach in the nba!!! Its their talent they are drafted for!!! ;-) And by the way euroleagues are all on a much higher level than highschool so keep comparing the right things!!!
No offense meant...

what PR? they turned around and sold of both picks irregardless of the possibility that the knicks wouldnt make the playoffs and the pick could be very very high for 4mm bucks. like i said lampe was window-dresing that we appeased them with. this is not an arguement based on whether or not i like the trade or not. this trade would've happened lampe or no lampe.

what did atlanta get from detroit for rasheed? ending contracts and one bad pick what did GS get for Jamison no picks van exel and a bunch of nothing+ they made them give up welch

the deal giving them cap room for next year 2 #1 draft picks+ what would be considered a 3rd first round pick in vujonic and ending contracts. what they are selling to their fans is free agency next year what they really did was settle long term debt so they can sell and get under the salry cap this year as well. even coloangelo said the entire deal including selling the two picks to utah was based on finances. A deal of this magnitude was getting done whether we threw in lampe or not because the ultimate goal for the owner was to set up to sell the franchise.

NY fans have an annoying habit of thinking that the rest of the league is their farm system. Its like when we make a trade, it has to be a no-brainer steal, or else there are a million fans saying “we got ripped off”…That explains why Knick message boards are flooded with Charlie Ward for Shaq, or Shandon Anderson for Tim Duncan trade proposals….shocking as it may seem, another team may actually want talent in return….shocking.

Great line. LOL
