True, I'm not sold on Lin, but I wanted him to get a chance to learn..People are thinking he was ready to run a team against the Heat, I don't think so...How do u think Lin would be as lead guard of this team currently constructed???...I would love to see him come off the bench and grow into the role..People think he is ready for prime time and he haven't played a full season in this league...With the organization being so heavily invested in Amare, you need a capable PG running the show...Which is why I think management went into PG overkill...Lin had a role, lead guard, I'm not sure...

I agree thats why I was really pushing for Kidd and Prigioni is great because if Kidd does finally slow down/break down you don't miss a beat as far leadership from the pg position goes. Melo and Amare need selfless pgs to succeed. Mike Bibby and Toney Douglas were not pass first pgs. Davis could've been that guy but he was overwhelmed with injuries. I felt keeping Lin was a risk/high reward situation because as we know 23yr olds tend to improve with age and experience. One thing is for sure he is light years ahead of Felton offensively. Just a little raw in leading a team. Even at Harvard he was playing off the ball at SG. But I saw enough of what he could do as a leader with his penetration going to the hole and scoring and dishes out to open shooters after the D collapsed. Enough for other teams to game plan to stop him.

The way the whole thing went down this summer with Lin wasn't good for anyone..From my point of view as a Knick fan, Lin gets most of the blame..I think his whole media persona is a charade...He wanted a stage for himself and Linsanity..But hey, make the money when u can and u can't fault him for that...Just don't pretend like you are innocent and don't know whats going on..You lose me that way...But all said, I'm happy with where we landed and looking forward to a new season..I hope Hollinger is wrong in his assessment...I think it's a big year if everyone stays healthy..Our core has to be healthy....

Cancel the All Star ballots for the next ten years. Jeremy Lin has his ticket punched to Springfield already.

There is a huge difference between a star and a firecracker.

Dude trademarked the phrase "Linsanity" 5 games into his famed run!

That's how humble and grounded he is.

I do feel he was overrated the hype was beyond ridiculous but he had talent and no question we gave up on a good talent. Hope he does well, he's a very classy guy and gentleman's gentleman.

We let him walk and got nothing in return is the biggest issue. Smart successful teams handle assets differently

You can't find another situation remotely close to what happen to the Knicks to say a smart team doesn't let him walk.

No one had a problem with him trademarking the phrase at the time. Everyone was caught up in the phenomenon and having a grand ol time

You think anyone misses Tim Tebow in Denver after Peyton Manning rallied from 24 down on Monday Night Football...

Are we comparing Peyton Manning to Raymond Felton now?

No, but the Tim Tebow comparison is legit.

There are no similarities between Lin and Tebow. Other than religion that is

They're actually pretty similiar. Both rallied their teams when they were both faltering. Both parlayed their flash in a pan performances into big paydays and national spotlight. Both GQ covermen. Both marginal stars with obvious flaws and weaknesses. I'd say the only major difference is their athletic backgrounds. Tebow was a decorated athlete in Florida, just wasn't considered starting QB material. Lin was a combo guard in the Ivy League which doesn't produce NBA players like ever. So I'd say they have alot in common. In fact so alike in atlethics and in life that Time tabbed Lin to pay tribute to him:

Watching Tim Tebow play football, you can observe many things about his character. You see his fierce competitiveness, his strong work ethic and how he is a leader that his teammates trust and respect.
But it is the qualities that Tim, 24, embodies in his life off the field that truly set him apart. He is unashamed of his convictions and faith, and he lives a life that consistently reflects his values, day in and day out. Through his foundation, he constantly reaches out to people and communities in need of hope. He realizes what he has been blessed with and seeks to help those who are worse off. As athletes, we pour our hearts into winning games. Tim is a reminder that life is about much more than that.
Lin is a point guard for the New York Knicks

LOL @ how he says that he wanted to spend his whole career with the Knicks, but he thought that the NYK brass would spend $25M for a 2-year injured player with 2 dozen starts under his belt.

No, no... You made your choice, and we made ours. Good luck in H-Town.

..and Jeremy, please take with you, all those butthurt pseudo-fans who swore off the Knicks when you signed that Rockets offer sheet.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Which begs the ultimate question, if jerem Lin wanted to be with the Knicks for life - why did he sign the Houston Rockets offer sheet in the first place?

All he had to say was, "Glen, here are Houston's first set of numbers, match them and I'm yours, signed, sealed and delivered."

The Knicks let Jeremy Lin walk

Any Knicks fans who say this was wise are just deluding themselves out of psychological necessity. They cannot face the truth—that owner James Dolan is a petty bastard who let a rising talent and marketing behemoth leave for nothing—because it would lead inexorably to self-immolation. To be a Knicks fan now, you must be able to maintain your reality-distortion field and believe that, at any moment, a purple unicorn will gallop into Madison Square Garden and gift the court with solid-gold robot versions of the 1972–73 Knicks.
