It's the wording of the poll - if the poll was asking about past performance, it would probably be much more negative.

Or if the poll could have worked in the word Gallo...

i dont see why the gallo hate i mean he was a good player for us and fans have the right to like both gallo AND melo

Supporting Melo means you have to diminish at every opportunity all the players, picks, and cap space he was traded for.

Irish, it's not gallo hate. The Melohate is largely fueled on this board by folks who miss the yoots (Gallo primary among them), draft picks, the hope and change of the Walsh era. For God's sakes, they probably miss the $3mill Dolan ponied up as well. What I was trying to point out was that you'd possibly get more negative Melo pulse votes if the word "Gallo" was used in the poll.

It's sort of complicated. I liked Gallo when he was here. But he's not here anymore. So I don't care. About Gallo. You see.

dude just stop.. a lot of us disliked carmelo since the mardy collins incident.... from that point on, I thought he was a first rate douchebag.... nothing has changed since he put on a knick uniform... some of us have standards when it comes to who we root for.... I had a hard time rooting for zach randolph when he was here, because I thought he was selfish.. had nothing to do with the "yoots" we traded... you act as if carmelo was wildly popular here for many years...

The Mardy Collins incident??? Mardy Collins??? And you're telling me to "just stop"??? Seriously, you need to let some balloons go, dude.
Some of us are fans of the Knicks, not baggage toll collectors for each players' historical past. Standards... yeah, and some of us are just rooting for an NBA basketball team, not acting as the personality trait police.

How did you feel about Marbles?

Do you hate JKidd for the whole wife thing in Phoenix?

And you've mentioned the yoots and the draft picks and even things like the supplanting of Stat in so many other threads, it's not even worth trying to understand where you are coming from anymore with your Melo hate.

Mardy Collins....hohhhhleeeeeeeee sheehit.

I'd like to have a bigger sample of votes but my purpose of the poll was to find out very plainly were we are as a group. My thoughts were very few really "Hate" him but are very vocal. The lovers think its a big population (the way they bait and mentions "Those that don't like him") and bring in Gallo and others to justify the trade furhter.

Why does it bother you anyway if some hate melo. Should just focus on the season like I do. I like the defensive minded players/veterans we have

First of all, I wasn't talking to you like a moron, I was trying to be funny, like a moron. I happen to be an Irish Knick Fan as well. And a blatant homer at that.

And I was trying to express that I don't hate Gallo, I just am a Melo fan. I was pointing out that Gallo love would have possibly bought some more negative Melo votes from those who also point and spit at Melo's past performance.

End.

He gave you a reason. We are adults.

My take is Melo, or any other player might be a knick in uniform but has not endeered himself to SOME fans. some forgave all his past as soon as he comes thru the door. To each his own. Few around here are causual fans.

I think there are some that bonded with guys like Gallo and Wilson were were here a few years and like them. Just because they are traded does not mean they are "bad". To wish them badly to justify the trade is more akin to loving the uniform than the players, but only if the players are wearing orange and blue.

Clyde played in Cleveland. Bernard In Washington, Ewing in Orlando and Seattle.

I voted positive. He brings a certain excitement to the Garden. In a pinch, you know where the ball is going, and you feel good that it's going there. Unfortunately, there are those who don't accept what we have, no matter how many wins we get.

Clyde played in Cleveland. Bernard In Washington, Ewing in Orlando and Seattle.

And Spree played in Minnesota and Mase played in Charlotte and Camby and KT played damn near everywhere... no one that came in their respective places ever got this level of hate. I don't remember anyone here ever killing Jim Cleamons or crucifying Vin Baker, for that matter. I didn't particularly care for KVH, Spree manlove aside. I didn't hate the guy. I hated Layden and his Utah-loving background for doing the trade. I never criticize anyone for hating Dolan. I do enough of it myself. Still like the uniform.

I think the issue is not that anyone is wishing Gallo, Changling or Moz ill, but it's with the constant 3 posters [see poll above] who equate their "bonding" with the yoots as a causal issue for their Melo negativity. You don't have to wish the yoots bad, all anyone has to do is bring up what they are now. Is that wishing them bad?
The justification actually is more in the opposite direction, pumping up the yoots and the past and the supposed potential given up to justify the hate for a player you're not endeared to. And apparently may never be.

Yeah, I really do like the uniform. Always have. I'm silly that way. I wasn't crazy about getting JR Smith. But he's got the jersey, he's got the dunk and he's been flying pretty straight. I'm a fan now.

Melo took a pile of shit to the playoffs his first year here and fought. Even tried to make Fishlips a hero. It didn't work out.

Maybe I should have spent more time watching and hating him in Denver. Missed out on that.

Use the Ignore button. Its rather good!

BTW, Im promoting everyone is entitled to there opinon. Im only using this poll to show (wish we had more votes to confirm) that its a small sample and thus it gets magnified by supporters who then expand the subject. So if "gallo" is mentioned by one poster then 5 come to slam on it then we have 6 posts instead of a just one on the subject and then the redundancy starts.

Either you are just attempting to be silly and disruptive or you just don't give a damn about having a legit conversation. I think it has been detailed as to why we are not a fan of carmelo... and to basically drum it up as having a bonding with the guys traded is just uninformed and silly.... I know for sure myself and another poster didn't like carmelo before we drafted any of the kids, so why keep perpetuating these lies.. your whole argument is smoke and mirrors and lacks integrity..

Negative: My issue with him is and always has been he isn't worth what he makes, based on better players making less than him including those three in Miami. So, yeah if he can justify his paycheck, it will turn positive. I don't give a rat's ass how many points he puts up, we need rings, failing which we need deep playoff runs of which he has managed second best once in eight seasons. Yeah NEAGTIVE.

It's also amusing how a bunch of idiots worship him for being in shape and wanting to be a team player - like that's real special.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!
